So, Allie, last episode we were talking about the snow. We were talking about all the, you know, glorious, amazing things that happen with the snow. You want to know about what happened to me on Friday night? Oh, dear. I'm nervous. You already know, and people that have listened to this podcast for a long time know, I have the worst luck with cars. This is true. Just the worst luck. So I told you on the last episode that it took me, you know, two hours the first night shoveling, two hours the second night getting the cars out of the driveway from our ice snowstorm that we had this last week.
What personal winter driving mishap starts the episode?
Well, from the ice snowstorm, we parked the cars on the road, you know, off the road, like in the cul-de-sac. So it really wasn't like on the road, on the road. And everybody in the neighborhood did the exact same. I mean, there was like 25 cars in the neighborhood on the street. So we did that, and we parked my wife's car, which we had gotten in the last couple of years new to us and spent money on all these good things. So parked that on the road right there. I can't believe this happened. Dead asleep, middle of the night, Friday night, 2.30 in the morning, banging on my door. It feels like the door is getting knocked down.
Oh, dear.
I'm like, what is happening? So sprint downstairs, open the door, police officer on my front porch, 2.30 in the morning.
This is not good.
No, it is not good. So I'm like, what is happening? Sir, someone hit your car on the road. Oh, no. So this is the deal. Go out, check it out, do all this stuff with the officer. Again, 2.30 in the morning. I'm wearing a robe. It was just terrible. My UK Kentucky blue robe. My wife still makes fun of me for that. She'll probably hold on to that one for a while.
Real men wear robes.
And... A snowplow backed into my wife's car. So took out the real taillight, took out, you know, dented and kind of messed up the frame a little bit. So, yeah, that's going to be my project this week.
No problem.
You know, luckily it was like a city, so they're going to take care of it. Like they'll take care of the cost or whatever. But jeez. 2.30 in the morning.
This was Friday night going into Saturday?
Yeah.
Disaster.
Yeah, early Saturday morning.
I was going to actually ask you when I came in today, I noticed you were driving a different car, but sometimes you just got to ignore when Logan brings a different car. That's true.
It's always a disaster. It's like a sob story of some sort. It's some horrible story about whatever. So, yeah.
Yeah. You know, I have my best friend works for a company that does like audio and video and lighting and all kinds of stuff. And so they travel quite a bit to go out and do projects or whatever. And not long ago, I was with her. We were hiking and she got a call on a Saturday, which is never good. And one of their vans, I don't remember what state they were going through, but they hit a bear on the interstate. A bear? A bear. How do you hit a bear? A black bear. It was just on the interstate and they hit the bear. Why did the bear cross the road? To get to his honey. And so it made me think of you because I'm like, how does that even happen? And then I was like, no, Logan would be driving down the road and hit a bear.
Like 100%.
For sure.
No, snowplow. Backed into by a snowplow. And the car, the crazy thing is the car was like behind a snowbank. It wasn't even, it shouldn't have gotten hit.
How did the snowplow accident damage the car and who pays for it?
I don't know.
Disaster.
