How do the hosts introduce the episode and set the tone?

Allie Howard 0:02
Hey, this is Allie, and thanks for listening to the show. Give us a five-star review where you listen and share this episode with someone who might need to hear it. Now, enjoy the show.
Quint (host) 0:14
Ladies and gentlemen, you're listening to another edition of D.O.M.I.
Unknown 0:17
D.O.M.I. A Howard back in the house. Matching the energies.
Quint (host) 0:21
Hey, last time we talked was like 5 o'clock. You were drinking coffee because you were harnessing your inner teenage child and going to the movie at 10 o'clock. I thought of you. I was going to text you, but I put my Kindle down. So my routine is real simple. I try to lay down like quarter to nine. I read for about 15 minutes and then the Kindle starts falling on my face.

What personal anecdotes do the hosts share about late-night routines and family life?

Quint (host) 0:45
And then I have to like, I have to like put the Kindle down and call it a night because if I do anything else, then I wake back up and I got to start the process all over again. That's my routine. But I looked at the clock as I was doing this and it was a little bit later. It was nine 30, which was like, that's pushing it. I was like, Whoa. And I thought you are literally just sitting down to 30 minutes of previews and then going to watch a movie. I'm sure the movie was great. In fact, our family is going to see it this afternoon, which is kind of fun. My youngest son absolutely loves this whole theme and the wicked thing. But how was the event? Staying up until midnight, how did you do?
Allie Howard 1:24
I honestly kind of killed it. If anything, I drink too much coffee and overprepared. One thing about me, if I try to watch a movie after probably eight, I will fall asleep. Like, I just will. Even if it's in the theater, I just can't do it. But I drank a ton of coffee, and then I went over, I had small group right before that, and I had a Coke, so I had even more caffeine. Like, I was so determined to not be even relatively tired.
Quint (host) 1:52
So when you were done with the movie, were you able to call it a night and go to sleep? No. Because that's what I didn't...
Allie Howard 1:57
So my roommate and I, we finished the movie and one other girl went with us and then we went home and we had what we call cereal hour, which is where we're both like night owls. And so we make a bowl of cereal. It's like crazy sugar, terrible for you cereal. And we sit on the couch and unpack our day. So we went home after Wicked and we had cereal hour and unpacked the movie. We went to bed at like one.
Quint (host) 2:21
How was the day the next day?
Allie Howard 2:23
Fine. I rallied. It was awesome. You can ask Logan. I was probably in a mood for some of the day. You mood in the morning?
Unknown 2:32
No.
Allie Howard 2:33
Well, I'm going to be mad in the morning regardless of how late I stay up. Because I'm a night owl. I thrive at midnight. But if you catch me at 7 a.m., I'm sorry. I'm just going to be a terrible person.
Unknown 2:45
She's obviously very smart, but I do think she's on a self-destructive course right now.
Allie Howard 2:51
The movie is amazing. I'm excited to hear your review after you see it. I won't have any spoilers or anything, which I think I said this last week. I had not seen the Broadway musical, so I intentionally didn't have spoilers of what happened.
Quint (host) 3:06
Oh, I have no idea what happened.
Allie Howard 3:07
The biggest spoiler of what happened was watching Wizard of Oz, which everyone knows. But it was honestly really well done.
Quint (host) 3:15
I had a great time. I'm looking forward to it. We are seeing it as a family. So my son, Oldis, is home from college. And this is the first experience that we're going through. Like, oh, he was off to college. He's come home from college. And it's fascinating. Because there's a range of emotions that are in play. The first is can't wait to see him. So great to have him in the house. You know, he's been this big, big man. You know, he's gone. He's on his own, etc. And then you realize, like, he's still an 18 year old. There are certain things he does that drive me nuts. Mm hmm. And now he sort of feels like, oh, I have all my freedom and all my, you know, ability to come in. And I'm like, no, you don't. Not while you're in my house, because I have to know where you're at because you're my responsibility.
Quint (host) 4:08
Yeah. And last night is a perfect example. He's been coming in a little bit after midnight.
