I've never felt so good about an intro. That was impressive. You know why? My teeth are chattering, so I have to make up for that in energy.

This is very true. So we cut our episodes in the office that we used to, the old office. And so we moved offices for Jewel Financial, our sponsor, this episode and all episodes. Nice little plug. And the old office is an office that Quint owns and will be renting out or turning into an Airbnb or doing something with. but currently it's winter here, and he has no heat on. So we are absolutely freezing. We walked into this house, and it's 44 degrees.
I don't know if you've ever had the privilege of renting a house from a local slumlord before, but, well, it's not as fun as it sounds.
you know we're just gonna power through and if we seem a little angry it's because we are okay because we're furious and we can't work in these conditions i feel like i'm still cold camping that's how i feel right now yeah how was your cold camping we need an update on that oh yeah um it was great it actually was not as cold as it's been historically so i think i've said this on the podcast before so far the record for the low has been 17 and That's one followed by seven, which was the first year we did it. And that year we backpacked. So that was a big mistake. Because that means you hike in and you carry everything you bring. So that means you do not bring as many layers. You skimp out.

Well, we did it and it was terrible. And we like barely could get a fire going because it had snowed. So everything was wet and cold. So it was pretty bad. This time it got down to like 45 degrees. So that wasn't too bad. And it wasn't like last year. It was like actively foot and a half of snow on the ground this year. No snow. And it didn't rain at all until the very end, which I think I told you this. I don't remember if I did or not.
Oh, yeah.
We're sitting at the campfire. Picture this beautiful morning. You know, sun is coming through the trees, whatever. Fill in the random detail. It was magical. And we were talking about how the weather had been so great. I was actually, I was not only not cold the night before, I actually got hot at one point because we bring like really nice sleeping bags and quilts. Exactly. You get it. And all of a sudden it starts to drizzle. And my friend joked about, because I think I said this last week when I was talking about it. She was like, oh man, Allie, your wish is coming true. It's going to rain. Because if you know anything about me, my least favorite thing in the world is to be what I call quet. what just what what what which is when you're not only cold but you're also wet and so that was terrible and it ended up downpouring so we went from like this was awesome i was warm last night best trip ever and then within a matter of seconds everything was drenched because it started like downpouring now we're packing up a muddy wet tent
At 9 a.m., I haven't even finished my coffee, and it was like chaos. And we had stuff everywhere because we didn't plan on it raining.
That sounds absolutely horrible.
So it very quickly tanked. But other than that, great trip. And we got to go to Leisure Lanes, which is like the best little dinky bowling alley ever. That was like the highlight.
That's fun. I love bowling. I do enjoy it. So did you do well? Are you a good bowler?
No.
I either hit no pins or every pin. Like I do not bowl in the middle ground. I think I bowled like a 50. I'm not even kidding. It was like an all-time low. And normally I'll bowl like about 100, which is not great, but I feel pretty good about it.
I'm impressed.
But my friend got a turkey.
So she was lighting it up. Living the dream.
