That was impressive.
Quint (host) 0:20
DIY Money. Yeah, but every once in a while as I'm listening to this, there's music happening or something, and so I don't really hear all the DIY. I don't know.
Logan (host) 0:28
We need to get the music beforehand, and then we can integrate.
Quint (host) 0:31
Well, that's Steve.
Logan (host) 0:32
I mean, that's producer Steve. Steve's a baller.
Quint (host) 0:34

Anyways, what's going on? Who's winning the Super Bowl this year? Okay, I thought you were going to ask me about my race. I've been talking about this for months and now it's over and you're asking about the Super Bowl? Are you serious? I was trying to be Mr. Humble.
Logan (host) 0:53
I knew what you were going to talk about.
Quint (host) 0:53
I was trying to be Mr. Humble.
Logan (host) 0:55
I knew what you were going to talk about. I had to throw out something different just to see you.
Quint (host) 0:58
Well, you did. It was a great softball. I fell for it. But my gosh, if I don't get a chance to share this with the world. First of all, I want to thank all the amazing people who reached out. You know who you are. It was absolutely unbelievable to get messages from you encouraging me. It kind of gave me, you know, a little bit of... I don't know a little bit more of anxiety just knowing hey I really have you know been talking about this ad nauseum you know forever eyes on that there was a lot of there was a lot of eyes on the Strava there was a lot of messages a lot of emails but I really do want to thank you all so much for that and
Logan (host) 1:35
Can you talk about what you did?
Quint (host) 1:37
Yes, I'm getting there. I'm getting there. Without further ado, I did reach my goal. For those of you that don't know, I have been working for the last several years, quite honestly. This has been a multiple-year goal. of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Boston Marathon run in April every year has qualifying times that seem to get harder and harder every single year. In fact, they don't seem to get harder. They are harder. They just dropped it another five minutes last year. So at my age, my qualifying time for a marathon was three hours and 15 minutes, which is like... I mean, it's ridiculous as it is. And so I tried in January. I got about halfway through the race on pace. I started to struggle, and I hit a wall, and it was just over from there, and the rest is history.
Quint (host) 2:25
So from there, I hired a coach, hired a new coach. Not that Morris wasn't amazing, but he hired the same coach. He's trying to break three hours in Berlin. And so he hired a coach. I hired a coach. And so I went several months on a training plan, and I successfully ran three hours, 10 minutes, and 50 seconds in the – it's so funny. It's called the Boston Last Chance Marathon. Thank you. in Geneva, Illinois last weekend. And the reason it's called that is literally it was on a Saturday, and Boston opens for registration on a Monday. So I ran a 310.50. Which is on average per mile. About a 717, I think, something like that. That's nice. A little bit higher. I won't go down this rabbit hole. It's a little bit higher than I was targeting.
Quint (host) 3:16
But I had a GPS malfunction. I'm not even joking about this. And I thought, literally, I thought I was running faster than my GPS was telling me I was running. Or I should say, I was running what my GPS was telling me I was running. And it was not as fast as I should have been going. And so that's very discouraging. I am not sure how to remedy that. I'll figure it out along the way. But it was awesome. and fun fact for all of you runners out there and this is listen if i can inspire you my first marathon however many years ago it was was 420 my second marathon was 340 and this was a 310 i'm 48 years old it's awesome you can do it start today i don't care if you go out and Walk. I don't care what you do.
Quint (host) 4:02
You can improve your fitness just like finances today. Now, the great irony for those people that are listening that are actual real runners, you know that a 4-minute, 10-second buffer still may not be enough to get into Boston.
