Welcome back. Ladies and gentlemen, you're listening to another edition of DIY Money. DIY Money. Hey, how it in the house? Quint, welcome back after a week off. Yeah, I don't like missing. I really don't. I love listening to the podcast, love listening to what you guys do, but I just love being on the podcast. I mean, I'm just going to be selfish and say that, but I love it. I love it. It's fun. It brings me energy and it brings me joy. I would say anecdotally, if you are not doing anything that brings you joy in life, please find something that brings you joy. Get busy living or get busy dying. I mean, seriously, too many people are running around the world. Miserable. No bueno. All right, let's talk about you for a moment, A. Howard.
Quint (host) 0:57
So you've been in the office now for a couple of years. It's been such a blessing to have you on our staff, all the help that you have been part of the process and helping clients and just the knowledge and wisdom you bring. But I've also noticed, which I really love.
Allie Howard 1:14
I knew there was a but.
Quint (host) 1:15
Yeah, I hate saying that. And I've also noticed that you bring in your goals and so forth. Oh, no. I know where you're going with this. There's been a couple of them you brought in. Like there was a hydration. Hydrate July. Hydrate July. And there was like a closed loop. October or something like that. And then there was like a pushup, you know, March or I don't know, I'm making stuff up now, but there's only like two remember. And, and you put up, it was so cool. Cause one day I'm walking, I walk by Allie's office every day. Um, and there was a calendar up and there's like an X on the calendar, you know, for the days that she did. I was like, Oh, what are we doing? And it's like, Oh, I'm hydrating. You know, I got to drink this, you know, gallon or what I got to drink this.
Quint (host) 1:58
And then another one was closed loop and so on and so forth. So, we're cutting this on November 27th. And I just want to ask, like, cause I know you took a, there was no, what was it? No goal November. No goal November. You took a break. You took a break. And I love that. What's December? Do it again December. I liked that. I think you said that the other day. I did. Actually, I said do it all December. Do nothing again for December. No, that's not what I meant.
Allie Howard 2:27
Okay, this is what I told you the other day when you were picking on me for this.
Quint (host) 2:30
I don't pick on you. I kind of just try to inspire and encourage.
Allie Howard 2:34
If you think Quint picks on me, drop a comment.
Unknown 2:37
Comment. I do pick on her. Okay, true.
Allie Howard 2:40
Here's my pushback. It's cold, Quint. I don't want to go outside and close my rings, and I don't have a treadmill, and I'm not buying a gym membership. Those are my boundaries.
Quint (host) 2:50
Okay.
Allie Howard 2:51
Maybe I'll drink some water again. But I throw a fit in the winter. We all know this. And I like to mope and pout about it. And then in the spring, I'll be happier again.
Quint (host) 3:02
I have a really, really good friend who said, it's never the weather, it's the clothes. Meaning, you can wear the appropriate clothes to handle the weather. No, you can't. Okay. Well...
Allie Howard 3:17
What's weird is I just went cold camping last weekend, but that I'm okay with.
Quint (host) 3:23
Yeah, that's crazy. So that's what I was going to say. Like, you're an elements person. This is what's so fascinating. Like, this year alone, you have backpacked, like, the great Grand Canyon. You've been out on, like, whatevers, and you put yourself in death-defying situations, climbing mountains, rucksacking over wherever, Spartan racing, whatever. And now it's like, oh, it's cold.
Allie Howard 3:51
yeah everyone has to have a line it's my line is when it gets cold and then wait you went cold camping yeah you missed that last week when you were out on the podcast i was talking about it i we do it every year right before thanksgiving we go out no matter what the temperature is we always go camping and the coldest it's ever been was 17 this past weekend it was like
