Do you remember where you were and what was happening?
And I was young, but I remember watching it on TV with my mom. And I just remember the fear of that moment because my grandfather was flying that day. So he was on a flight and got the second flight he was on, like he was on his layover, got canceled because everything started happening. So I just remember that moment. I don't remember much past that, but that's kind of the moment that I... So how old were you? I was, golly, 2001, right? So I was... Like four. I mean, I was young.
So my story is interesting because I had come back. So again, 2001, September, and I had come back from being a broker in New York at the beginning of the year. And my intention was to set up my own office and begin, you know, practicing the business. And if you look at if you were to dissect my licensure, you would see that I started a business in 2001 in the state of Kentucky. But when I first started, I had no clients. I had no office. I was just... I got licensed. I got registered with the state. I had to go through that whole process. I mean, I was networking and talking to everybody that I could. So the reality is I still had to... I worked. I had another job. I had a day job that, of course, I was counting down the days and weeks until I could leave that job and really go full-time.
And thankfully, I was able to do that in relatively short order. But... I'll never forget. I had some clients. I am I'm starting to build this business and I'm sort of doing this. And I I am way I wake up. I was already up pretty early. I mean, it wasn't that early. I think the markets were just about open. I think the first plane flew into the building at eight something or nine something. I don't know the exact details. I should know.
