Welcome back to another episode of DIY Money.
DIY Money. We're shaking a howard. Getting used to Q being gone. Yeah, how is that?
I feel like Quint has asked me that a bunch on the episodes and different things, but we haven't talked to each other about that. So how has it been with some of the transition? Obviously, I know Allie and I are the only ones on this episode. Quint's not going anywhere for the podcast. If anything, we are leaning in. even heavier into the podcast every single day and every single week and uh with diy money daily check it out diy money.org we are really pushing forward as much as we can with the diy money podcast but it's very different around the office i mean quinn is not around from a day-to-day basis so thoughts how's things different i so back in our old office we used to have this staircase and i'll just go ahead and say it the ugliest blue carpet ever i just like to paint it was rough
And every day without fail- True blue, like navy blue. Yes.
As blue as it can be. And like very thin carpet, not like soft, take a nap on it carpet. Like this is industrial carpet.
How did the hosts talk about the team transition and office energy after Quint left?
Sure.
Like I'm just kidding. Anyway, without fail, every day in my office, I'd be drinking my coffee, angry at the world. Still waking up. And Quint would come... I mean stomping. I don't know how he made so much noise. Up the stairs. And he would always be like... What's up everybody? Like the energy he has on the podcast... Is every day. Multiply that somehow by three or four. And that was like his morning greeting. Sure. So for me, I think you have a lot of energy in the morning. I obviously do not. That's not my forte. I know my place. But I've really missed like every time. And like Quint will walk through the front doors of our new office even. And you just hear like clapping and things banging around. And just like you're like, is someone dying or is Quint here for the day?
And it was a coin flip. Sure. So I think for me, the saddest part, which like obviously miss him as a, you know, mentor and friend, professional, all the things. The saddest part has been there's just such a lull in like the energy of the office and not in like we're not moping and having cry circles yet. Maybe they're coming soon. But there's just such a tangible presence to Quint that it's like when Q enters the building, it's game on. And that I dearly miss around the office.
Yeah, but it's been a good transition. Like from a client perspective, from dealing with folks, from working with folks, like I think everybody has, we obviously miss Quint and love that you and I still get to see him on a weekly basis, although he's in Italy right now. But it has been great for him to kind of transition into that next step of, And, Allie, I'm sorry. You're just going to have to start drinking coffee earlier and be more energetic in the morning.
I have so much coffee.
I mean, like, I'm ready to go at 530 in the morning. You're like, no.
I'm asleep at 530. So we're just going to have to work on that. I mean, and I have coffee before I come in. I don't know what the solution is. I think I've given up on being a morning person. Good! I get up, I take a walk, I drink my coffee. I'm awake for a while before I get to the office.
It's just not happening.
But I just don't want to be there until 10.30. That's when my brain is like, let's do it. Now, if we were cranking out financial plans at 10.30 p.m., 100% there.
Nope, that could not be me.
I thrive. I think my peak productivity hours as a human being are like... 1030 to midnight. Like I will get it done.
Then I'm just going to have to come in your office and wake you up every day for sure. That's the next step. That's the next step.
You really do.
Well, all right, everybody, we're going to take a brief break for our sponsors and check us out on the social medias, DIY money podcast, um, or DIY money. Also DIY money.org.
