Most people don't realize how much of their personal information is being bought and sold every day. Data brokers are making billions pulling details about you from public records and the internet, then packaging and selling it, usually without your consent. That's how your information lands in the hands of scammers, spammers, even stalkers. That's where Aura comes in. Aura actively removes your data from broker sites and keeps it off. They also instantly alert you if your information shows up in a breach or on the dark web. But Aura goes beyond data protection. With one app, you get a VPN, antivirus, password manager, spam call protection, dark web monitoring, and even up to $5 million in identity theft insurance.
Unknown 0:44
All backed by 24-7 US-based fraud support. Other companies might just sell credit monitoring or just a VPN. Aura gives you all of that together at the same price competitors charge for just one service. Start your free trial today at aura.com slash prevent. Protect yourself now at aura.com slash prevent.

Welcome back. Ladies and gentlemen, you're listening to another edition of DIY Money.
Allie Howard 1:23
DIY Money. Hey, Howard in the house. Had to come in strong today.
Quint (host) 1:27
You are coming in strong. I knew you were going to roast me. I'm not going to roast you. I'm not going to roast you at all, but I have realized. I have noticed something about you.
Allie Howard 1:34
I have noticed something.
Quint (host) 1:35
Yeah. I mean. I knew you were not a morning person, but there is a difference in not being a morning person and then running into somebody and you're like, oh my gosh, did they just lose an animal? Did they get in a car accident on the way to work? Do they hate me? Is there something genuinely wrong with them?
Allie Howard 1:56
Yes. That's you. It's that they're here talking to people. Monday morning at 9 a.m.
Quint (host) 2:02
The other day, 9 a.m., I come in. We're having a little Monday morning powwow. Allie is walking by my office. I'm like, hey, Allie. Hey. Walks right by.
Allie Howard 2:12
Okay, but to my credit, I have worked here for almost three years. And you just realized how much I hate the mornings. I've been faking it for so long.
Quint (host) 2:22
That's because I didn't always attend the morning meetings.
Allie Howard 2:26
Uh-oh. Now we're in trouble.
Quint (host) 2:28
Now I'm starting to show up to the morning meetings. I'm a little more astute of what's happening around here. But, yeah, I guess you did. You definitely did fake it for a while. Fake it till you make it. Fake it till you make it is very impressive.
Allie Howard 2:40
And what time do you get up on the average day? Like 4?
Quint (host) 2:42
4.45 is I have a standard alarm, which I never – I cannot tell you. This is not – there is nothing – I would rather sleep in. I want to be very candid with you. What is sleep in to you, though? Oh.
Allie Howard 2:57
Like 7.15? No, no.
Quint (host) 2:59
It's all about the hours. So it would be eight hours, nine hours of sleep. It would be amazing. But 4.45 is a standard alarm on my phone that never goes off because I'm typically up ahead of time. I know.

How do the hosts introduce themselves and set the tone for the episode?

Allie Howard 3:15
That's insane to me.
Quint (host) 3:16
But, yeah, yeah, that's just what it is. But I'm usually in bed by 9. See, that's the difference.
Allie Howard 3:23
I can hang.
Quint (host) 3:23
And I'm like, I'm going to read a little bit. And then 10 minutes later, I'm like, I'm out.
Allie Howard 3:29
Out.
Quint (host) 3:30
And then, you know, 4.30 rolls around and I'm wide awake.
Allie Howard 3:32
If we had the morning huddle at like 11 p.m., wired. Ready to go.
Quint (host) 3:36
That would be an evening huddle. That would be awesome. That is outside normal working hours. I would do it. Okay.
Allie Howard 3:42
I would zoom in.
Quint (host) 3:44
Anyways, you know, sigh. I think you're going to evolve the longer you're in this business. You know, someday maybe you have a family. I mean, it's not going to happen. I know. I mean, it's going to happen. You're going to be like, I'm a morning person. And you're going to be like, I can't believe I wasn't a morning person earlier in my life.
Allie Howard 4:02
I will say on this past Saturday, I took my friend to the airport. And it was in Lexington, so it wasn't far from my house. But they had to be there at like 6, so we got up at like 5.15.
