Ladies and gentlemen, to another edition of DIY Money.
Allie Howard 0:19
DIY Money. What's shaking, eh, Howard? Woo, I feel like it's been a while.
Logan (host) 0:23
It has been a while.
Allie Howard 0:24
How you been? Since we've done a question, since we did the bro talk, if you will. I know.
Logan (host) 0:28
I've been good. Yeah, we're going to get back to some audio questions today, which is going to be a lot of fun.
Allie Howard 0:31
Um, I've been doing well getting in the groove of the snow, just consistently hitting Kentucky.
Logan (host) 0:38
I know this is crazy.
Allie Howard 0:39
You get it shoveled up and then it just the next day, boom, three more inches.
Logan (host) 0:43
What's so annoying. What's terrible about Kentucky, um, is you get ice. It's not just snow. Like you're not just getting the nice powdery snow where you can go out and enjoy it and be like, Oh, it's beautiful. It's snowing. No, you get like also a half of inch of freezing rain that's in there. I have a very long driveway and it's all on a hill. And so I spent hours shoveling it, getting it cleared. And I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm awesome. I just cleared that. That was amazing. That was, you know, like work with your hands. You're like, oh, this is great. Next day, ice rink. Straight up ice rink. I mean, I... And then getting the cars out, I was sliding on that... path that I paved. And because there was so much ice, I would just slide into the snow banks on either side of the path.
Logan (host) 1:36
And then I'd have to dig myself out. I mean, I spent another two hours just getting the cars out of the driveway. I hate the snow. I hate the cold.
Allie Howard 1:42
Yeah. I stopped using my back stairs because they're just like probably two to three inches of just ice. And I'm like, I'm going to fall down the stairs. Like it's just going to happen. So I did scrape my car and that was the extent of enjoying the snow.
Logan (host) 1:56
You scraped it?
Allie Howard 1:57
As in, like, got the snow off of it.
Logan (host) 2:00
I got you. Okay.
Allie Howard 2:01
And mostly it was, we got lucky because, at least for my car, there was like a little bit of snow before just the inches of ice caked on my windshield. And so I was able to get my car door open, started the car. This was a hack from Daniel. Let it get really hot on the inside and then scraped it. And so basically I went outside with a broom and was just smacking my car and it was just falling off. So it wasn't too bad, but.
Logan (host) 2:25
Yeah, so the other problem with Kentucky is people don't know how to handle the snow and ice. So, like, I'm driving on the highway this weekend, and there's people that are having, like, slates of ice fall off the top of their car onto the highway right in front of me. Like dodging bullets. Yeah, it's like you're going down there and you're dodging ice mattresses that are coming off the roof of these people's car. It's absolutely ridiculous.
Unknown 2:50
The stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.
Logan (host) 2:54

And when you do, try to keep it to about a minute or less. That rule has gotten a little more flexible, but we're trying to be more strict about it again. So keep it short. Don't feel like you have to put every detail because we're not going to give advice.
