Who are the hosts and what is the episode about?
Hey, this is Allie, and thanks for listening to the show. Give us a five-star review where you listen and share this episode with someone who might need to hear it. Now, enjoy the show. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
You're listening to another edition of DL1 Money. DL1 Money. We're shaking Logan. I mean, you and I are in a cornhole tournament this week. We better win it. Yeah, we lost last year because I choked hard. Did we come in third or second?
I think we came in third. I mean, third is like, number one, hey, everybody, this is the winners. Number two is like, and they came in second. Then? Crickets. Nothing. Yeah.
It's like Shawshank Redemption.
It's like 50 foot of crap. I'm going to give some new listeners. We get new listeners every day. Thank you for joining the podcast. We love having you share it with a friend, some background. If you're just brand new to the show, I approaching 48 years of age. 48 years of age. I'm a spry 48-year-old, though. Logan, 28. And listen, the one thing, we have many things in common. The one thing we have in common, we are tailgate warriors. Yes, we are. That means we can grill with the best of them. He's a meat smoker. We like our Miller Lite, not going to lie. We're big football fans. But we can also throw down on some cornhole. Absolutely. And Logan is dynamite. What an intimidator. Like a ringer.
How do the hosts introduce their personalities and listener community?
He's the guy, backwards hat. It's like something comes out. I'm back in college, throwing the cornhole bags, killing it. Look at that form, that left arm way out.
He delivers on the goods. Look at him pump up this crowd.
I am. I'm a slow starter. Last year, slow started. Logan carried us. It was like single elimination, which I don't like that idea, but whatever. We roll on through. I mean, we are dominating. Yeah, we won like four games. We get to the final one, and I'm throwing ringers, and Logan fell. I'm like, where are you, bud? What happened?
Yeah, I fell apart.
It was a mental game. It was a mental game.
I mean, it was a big stage. We had some good old boy firefighters against us. Big stage.
They dominated us. Yeah, yeah. So we're going to play it again this Friday. Root us on. We'll tell you how we did. Actually, if we don't win, we'll probably never mention it again. We won't say a word. But again, it's a lot of fun. Thanks to all the new people. I want to do something unique. It's actually Logan's idea. I'm going to steal the credit. We have been rocking. We've been talking about the tribe inside the Facebook group. And we have really good dialogue on there. So if you are on Facebook and you want to hit us up on the DIY Money tribe to either be a casual observer or participate in the discussion, please do. I found something recently fascinating. And when I find something fascinating in relation to money, I'll put it in the tribe.
It could be as trite as when I bought five loaves of bread the other day for $1.50, which these loaves are usually four bucks. We get the 12 grain Kroger bread. I don't even eat it, but I just love it. Every once in a while I have a slice. It's so good. But I bought five of them. I left two on the shelves. I always do that so that somebody else can have the goodness. That's nice of you. Yep. And then I posted that picture. But whatever. This one was interesting. Did you know, Logan, that Fidelity... not only has the one total stock market index fund that is free, and I mean like not four basis points, not eight basis points, zero basis points. Now, they made a splash a few years ago coming out with that. Got a lot of publicity.
Total no-brainer, right? Going to mirror the S&P pretty much. I mean, it's a total market, so it's much, much broader, but it correlates pretty closely. I was down a rabbit hole the other day, and I learned they don't have one. They don't just have two, three. They have four zero-fee funds. And what's fascinating about this—correct me if I'm wrong. I assume you're looking at it right now. They have the total stock market. They have a large cap, but they also have an international one. which is unique because usually there are always higher fees in international.
