Mate, what about it? I uh I s I I don't know if like if if it hit the same way across the task with uh you guys and girls, but mate, like what a ridiculous night of rope. You will never ever see anything like it again, I don't think. It was nuts.
Well, some of it I think we might never see again. Some of it I don't ever want to see again, uh, which is uh the referees having to bust out the old phone. Uh we'll get to that in a second, but let's stick on the positive side of things. Now, we have seen this happen. We saw this happen at Ellis Park last year, we saw this happen at Twickenham uh the year before that. What's different about this result? as we head into a monumental challenge for the wallabies at Eden Park.
Yeah, that's a good question. So I reckon what's different between this This match and the one uh like you say at Twickenham where the Wallabies stung England, you know, pretty much after full time through Max Jorgensen and then uh the Ellis Park Miracle last year is that is that we've now got that accumulative uh experience of a lot of those guys. So it's the same guys that got it done on Sunday for the most part that were there for those other two ones. So off the back of that win in England, it was really hard for them to back it up again. Uh similar we saw that right with that that game at Ells Park last year took so much out of our guys and they really tapered off through the back end of the year.
There's no doubt about that. What's different about this twenty twenty-six uh version of JW is the fact that um that these guys have got a a deeper squad now and they've learned so much off the back of those other two wins to not fall into that same trap. So that's what makes this a little bit different.
How did the Wallabies’ forward pack win the scrum and set-piece battle?
Okay, let's start up front. Um again, like what the Wallabies did well. Set piece was absolutely fantastic. Uh and of course the usual hard work out of the loose forwards. How impressed were you by the Wallaby Ford pack uh on Sunday night?
Yeah, let's start with the scrum. Uh they were phenomenal. Like the uh yes, it wasn't uh you know, the starting front row for the box. Get that wasn't the same starting three that we saw against the All Blacks through the Gratis Rugby Rivalry Tour. But you you can never, ever, ever say that a spring box front row is not going to be world class. And the way that uh Belly Brown Brandon and Allen held their own in that first half. And then uh even in the second half, you know, for for large chunks of that with Tani Ellie going on with Aiden and Billy Pollard, like they they dug in at scrum time. Like they were that was no one was shifting anyone. That was a great battle. The lineup went well. We saw some great steals, some crucial steals from Jeremy Williams late in the piece as well.
So the defensive lineup looked good. Um We thought with Josh Cannon bouncing out, they'd lose that option.
