What is the overall theme and purpose of EAX 11 “The New Advantage”?
Welcome to this episode of Estate NCX. Today, I am chatting to Rob Brady about our upcoming Estate NCX event, number 11. It's been around many years now, so I'm going to dive in and talk to Rob about what people who are coming to this year's event can expect to see.
Estate NCX, the UK's number one estate NC podcast discussing the future of estate NC, entrepreneurship and business, hosts Mark Burgess and Rob Brady.
So we're getting around to that time of the year whereby we start to fill up the Estate Agency X event that usually takes place around October time. I wanted to have a chat with Rob about October. what we've got going on this year, so that anyone who's thinking about coming along that's been before in the past can start to find out what's going on there, and anyone that's never been before can find out what it's all about. So, Rob, this year, I state in CX, what is it, number, we're up to number? 11. 11, 11 now.
Lucky 11.
Lucky 11. So, what we've got going on, what's the main theme, what's the day starting to look like?
So, the title of this one this year is called The New Advantage. We're in a new world that you've been predicting for the last few years and even the last few AX events for the last four or five years. And it was more the fact of getting people who might be concerned or struggling or working out the next route to realise that this is the new advantage if you get it right, rather than being scared of it, being like this new world of working. So that's basically the theme of EX11 for this
year. And for people that haven't been before, what does a general day kind of look like? What can they expect? We'll go through the speakers in a bit, but just the sort of general agenda of the day, how does it
work? So 9.30 start, 10 o'clock start, we get Central London Central London yeah so it's a new venue this year so as we've built up over the years we've been at the Everyman in Liverpool Street Station in London for the last two years this year we're moving to Soho to a Curzon Cinema complex in Soho just off sort of Shaftesbury Avenue quite a big seat but the fundamental belief I've always had is comfy chairs is the first started point that sounds weird everyone just laughs about it but like trying to find a central London location that's still intimate not an expo not a big venue space you just get lost within and That's what a lot of people have said that they've enjoyed about the event. So first was trying to find comfy chairs, trying to find a place that's central.
So we found a nice quirky cinema as we've always done. Seats a good amount of people. So the idea is 9.30 arrive, half an hour of networking, catch up with people. People see a lot of value in that in its own right. 10 o'clock start and then it sort of runs through lunch break, some breaks in between and we finish about 4.30, 5 o'clock for about an hour or so for networking afterwards.
And the general idea, I mean, like, you know, because there's so many events that agents can go to now, you know, great events. You've got, you know, women in estate agency events, you've got negotiator events, you've got the CAFAFA events, like, you know, all of these different things in the calendar. So what's the kind of, what's the point of the estate agency X1? What's someone getting from this that's, to any of the other events that maybe they might have
already... So what we found with our ones has always been the new way of thinking, the new way of working. It's our main focus on it. So a lot of the agents that come to it either get the nuggets in between the network and all the people that we see on stage. And so it's the people in the room that are not thinking about how a stage industry used to be. It's about how to work in the future. And we have either speakers or panelists who are working in that new way or doing new things. And we tend to try and focus exactly similar to what we do at EAX around entrepreneurship and business within a state agency rather than just doing a state agency.
Yeah, so it's not about, look, you could use this technique to, I don't know, book more viewings or get more valuations.
