Chapter 1: What excites Saquon Barkley this week?
welcome back to the exciting mics presented by vanda pharmaceuticals today we are joined by mr saquon barkley saquon barkley 2k say the only other player in the nfl to win a super bowl on his birthday saquon thanks for joining us it was a great birthday for us it was how does it feel to be the first guest on the pod i'm excited yes i'm super excited one i think is
It's cool. Anytime you could just chill with your teammates. I feel like this helps us in the future when we're grinding in camp or in those big games. But it's an honor, man. I'm happy that you guys are doing this. You guys... are inspiring a lot of people, especially kids. So I'm happy to be on here with my guys and talking ball.
Talking ball. Talking everything. Talking everything. Everyone will talk about it. First guest. We're still kind of working through the kinks. I'm excited, too.
I'm getting to see, like, a different side of you guys. Once we start, whatever, our personalities start showing a little bit, you know? I see you. So it's crazy though. Cause like I see your personality more like this guy, like when he first came, he was quiet, quiet as hell. So like to see him doing this and like, you gotta get him out of my shell.
All right. What is exciting you this week?
You got the NBA playoffs.
You got a team.
Um, no, not really. I never, even like once Kobe left the league, I never had a team. I was a Colby and the Lakers fan.
and I was a Derrick Rose fan but right now Pacers beating the Cavs in five I mean Tatum obviously it's not you're not excited about that but you didn't group growing up though did you nah I played in high school I used to watch basketball like Kobe and stuff like that like that era but Tatum like

Chapter 2: How did OTAs feel for the players?
They got a new receiver, George Pickens. Picked him up from the Steelers. That'll be a good challenge for us. Him and C.D. Lamb. Healthy Dak. Healthy Dak. Yeah, we didn't really play Dak last year. We didn't. He was hurt both times. It'll be a good game, bro. It'll be a good matchup. They'll be a lot better than they were last year. Yeah. I know that for a fact. OTAs are back.
The boys are back in town, back in Philly. Do you think when OTAs comes around, does it feel like football's back? Like the season's coming? I don't know.
Personally, now you might be different. But personally, I feel like once OTAs are over and you transition to the summer workouts, that's when it's...
all right that's like not saying there's a switch that changed in otas but I don't know it gets kind of more I don't know I get juiced for it a little bit I like it more for the routine I feel like like we get back on schedule so like this is your first time right to to go as far as we did like was there was your body ready to get back in your routine or like when did you start training again
Yeah, so for me, it was tough because I had a lot of touches and a lot of yards, which is a good thing. But you got to, like, train yourself in the mind to allow your body to recover. So I probably did, no. the bare minimum to be completely honest coming into, uh, OTAs. I didn't run until I got to OTAs.
Um, but it kind of aligned with what coach was saying, what my trainers were saying, cuz I gotta let myself let my body recover. So I'm not, you know, that's how you let the wear and tear wear and tear just pound on top of each other. So it was just really just chilling and just happy to be back in the routine and getting the flow of things.
you gotta let your body recover and also build, build back into it.
I feel like a little bit, which I used to do different though, which it's crazy. Like, and every time anybody asks me about you, I say like, it's the unique thing about you is like, you have like a crazy routine and a different like perspective on it already. Like when I was a rookie, like I was on go mode, like I was on go, go, go, go.
So it was like playing in New York, you know, we didn't have too many successful seasons. So it was like, all right, like how can I get better? What can I do? And I'm in a weight room, I'm doing it. I never let my body, get time to heal and recover. And for you to say that at 22 years old is, is pretty good.

Chapter 3: What were Saquon's expectations for the NFL season?
So, yeah, I watched you in high school. My freshman year in high school. So, like, 17 is your senior year, right? My junior year. My last year. Yeah, dude. I remember watching him when I was in high school. Yeah, I know. It's crazy. It's crazy to think about. Dude, it's crazy to think about.
But you're not that, like...
26.
How old are you? I'm 22. I'm 28.
Yeah. I mean, he's a young one. Yeah. So, what's the most you've ever squatted? The most I've ever squatted, I think, was, like, six. Six something. Six something? Yeah. How old were you? Probably not that long. 22, 23 years old. What's on the bar right here?
595.
585.
585? 6.8.
uh like i was there you can't see me right right there you see me you see me left corner left corner yeah yeah but dude i it's just it's crazy to see the bar before you even pick it up it's bending it's freaking this looks like it's gonna break this was dumb because i should listen to eddie uh he wanted me to you know warm up so nah

Chapter 4: What are Saquon's thoughts on the Tush Push ban?
Chapter 5: How did winning the Super Bowl impact Saquon?
This is for everybody. Everybody gets rings, you know, type thing. So did you get out and walk the parade at all?
I was probably out a little too much. I had a little too much fun. I did go to Penn State back in my day, which is a party school. So I let my party boy side show a little bit. I was taking drinks from random people. It's all right. Yeah. But there's one clip, like there's a, they give me a Hennessy bottle. And I pulled a Hennessy bottle and you think I drink it. And I just run away.
I spit it all out. I was just like, nah, never. I cannot. I cannot.
That's probably got to be one of the best days of my life.
Chapter 6: What was the best part of the Super Bowl parade?
That's fun. The railing, the flimsy railing, you know, that keeps everybody back.
I almost got fell on like twice. Bro, they jumped it one time. Like in the beginning on Broad Street, when I went over, like I like came over and take pictures and blah, blah, blah. Like they jumped it. At one point I was surrounded by like 40 kids. Was that after? you took our ball boy out? Was it Aiden?
What'd you say? You remember when you took? Nah, that was before.
That was before. That was before. And I should have did that a little different. He a grown ass man.
Like I should have just put. It's probably that Hennessy.
I think, I think us walking. Hennessy was spit out. I could have walked the whole parade, I think. Walked, walked along the railings. Yeah. The railings almost collapsed. I told you they collapsed twice on me. It was a great day. Great day in Philadelphia.

Chapter 8: How did Saquon feel during his Met Gala experience?
No, there's no shot. There's a few probably. I mean, it's a, it's a good call. College town though. I think you go there, you can have a lot of fun. I think it's also the, like the staff we have, like the stability. They've been there for a while. Same thing with Penn State. Our head coach has been there for 20, this will be his 26th season. Man, we played y'all, what was it, 2019? Yeah.
I was watching Penn State play Iowa at Iowa's night game. My last year, my junior year.
and you what was your record against him he went crazy i got paid because i'm gonna lie my my really my two games against iowa after college though yeah like it helped me it helped my like my if you go watch my film against iowa uh it's probably a breaking tackle is that the reason why i got drafted high yeah jumping over dudes seriously yeah I almost lost that game, though.
17.
