What changes are happening in the Border Patrol leadership?
A changing of the guard. I'm Sue Guzman, Fox News. Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino is set to leave Minneapolis along with some Border Patrol officers. Details from Fox's Grinnell Scott.
Bovino's departure, along with a number of Customs and Border Protection agents, comes as President Trump's border czar, Tom Holman, makes his way to Minneapolis to oversee ICE operations. Bovino was one of the top enforcement officials who defended the deadly shooting of Alex Preddy last Saturday, claiming Preddy impeded federal agents while being armed.
The statements by Bovino caused community and national protests when compared with cell phone video of the shooting. Bovino has also been at other controversial immigration enforcement operations in cities such as Los Angeles and Chicago. Grinnell Scott, Fox News.
Spavino's next assignment is uncertain. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals says it'll not limit the use of non-lethal deterrents against crowds of demonstrators. That means federal agents can use means such as tear gas or pepper spray to disperse crowds. U.S.
Attorney General Pam Bondi posting on X calling the decision a full stay against legal action that would handcuff, as she put it, federal law enforcement. Former Olympic snowboarder and reputed drug kingpin Ryan Wedding appearing in court in Los Angeles after being arrested in Mexico. He's arraigned on various charges, including conspiracy to traffic cocaine, witness tampering and murder.
Wedding's defense attorney is Anthony Colombo Jr.
Today, Mr. Wedding entered a not guilty plea to both indictments that he's been charged with. The indictments are not evidence. They're just an accusation. The way that our system works is that it's accusatory, not inquisitory. So he entered a not guilty plea to both of those indictments.
He's ordered detained pending future hearings and the trial date was set for March 24th. America's listening to Fox News.
