As always, I'm your host, Thomas. Thanks for tuning in. Tonight, we're taking you on a journey to a faraway kingdom for a cozy retelling of the classic fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty. Our version was written by Alicia Stefan and will be read by Chloe. First though, let's settle ourselves for a good night's sleep.
To begin, make sure your body has a comfortable place to rest. Your limbs and neck are well supported. You are warm and encircled by the things that make you feel safe and at peace. Once you're ready, start the process of thoughtful breathing. Your breath comes naturally, but it deserves some attention now. Take deep breaths in and out. Gently extend your breath, filling your lungs up completely, and then letting them fully empty. Slow down the rhythm of the breath, This will help to slow your heart rate and tell your nervous system that it's time for rest.
Now, turn your attention to your mind. It can feel busy and full after a long day. Open the tap and let all the thoughts of the day pour out. You don't need them now. As they trickle into your subconscious, the space they leave behind is filled with the comforting warmth of peace and calm. Now, picture yourself lightly floating away to a place where spells and enchantments happen every day. This is where our story begins.
Once upon a time, there was a faraway kingdom where magic was commonplace. It was an exquisitely beautiful land. As far as the eye could see, there were lush green forests, crystal blue waters, and white-capped mountains. A king and queen reigned there with compassion and wisdom. and they were loved by all their subjects. From farm to village, everyone was content in their occupation, and nobody lacked bread for their table. The kingdom truly seemed happily enchanted. It may be that the fairies had something to do with it, people and magical creatures lived in harmony in this luckiest of kingdoms. There were no bad fairies or witches, and no angry trolls. With such abundant good luck, there was no need for anyone to be restless or unhappy.
Any small problems that might appear were easily dealt with, if not in the mundane, human way, then with a little bit of helpful magic. In time, the king and queen were lucky enough to have a child, a perfectly adorable little girl. They named her Lucia, which means light. she was given every comfort in life and was granted the most illustrious tutors.
