I hope you enjoy it, and let's begin. I'm so glad you're here with me tonight. and you've given me the opportunity to guide you into restful sleep. I know that today might have given you a great deal to think about. Perhaps your mind has been busy for hours, turning things over, revisiting conversations, making plans and finding problems where they may be none. And that's okay, that's what busy minds do. But tonight, you're going to rest, you're going to relax. And that every single thought that you've been carrying is gently going to be set aside. You don't need to solve anything tonight. You don't need to plan anything. You don't need to remember. Everything that needs your attention will still be there tomorrow.
Christopher Fitton 2:27
And you will be far better off to meet it after a wonderful night of sleep. so the job you only have to do tonight is to rest so get yourself in the most comfortable position for you right now adjust your pillow if you need to shift and move your body into whatever position is comfortable for you and if you haven't already gently close your eyes and make sure you are breathing nice and slowly breathing through your stomach and not doing upper chest breathing allow your belly to gently rise on the inhale and then gently fall on the exhale breathing in relaxation and letting go any stress. And with each breath that you take, and with each word that is said and uttered, you can feel your body perhaps relaxing more and more.

And perhaps you can begin to notice the wonderful feelings of heaviness settling through you your muscles getting soft, they're sinking into the bed, and you begin to feel so relaxed, from the top of your head, all the way down, to the tips of your toes, you're beginning to feel so good,

What preparation and safety instructions are given before the meditation begins?

and I wonder if you can bring your awareness now to your feet and toes and there is a gentle warm energy moving into the soles of your feet and that energy is causing all the tiny muscles there to simply let go and become loose and your toes relax and the arch of your foot releases, and the heel of your foot just drops down and rests, and this warm relaxing energy slowly moves into your calves, and it reaches your calf muscles, and they become quite loose and relaxed, just like a handful of loose rubber bands, and the tension simply fades away. And with each breath that you take, and with each word that is uttered, perhaps you can feel your body relaxing more and more, sinking a little deeper down into the mattress beneath you.

And this relaxing energy is moving now into your thigh muscles, causing them to simply let go and become loose. And you can let your thigh muscles just loosen and be heavy, completely at ease. and the energy flows into your hips, and your lower back now, and all the muscles there, unwind and relax, and if you are carrying any tension into your lower back at all, this simply dissipates now, as you breathe out, breathe all stress and tension out you feel so good the energy moves into your stomach and your abdominal muscles soften and release letting you do deep breaths Doing deeper, more natural breaths. Through the stomach. Letting go. With that energy moving into your upper chest. Into your shoulders.
Christopher Fitton 7:55
Letting your shoulders sink and drop. Just a little. dropping a little down, and this is such a wonderful sign that you are relaxing so well, relaxing how you're meant to be, coming into a state of pure relaxation, pure calm,
