20-year-old kid. And I don't know, the impact on him from a mental perspective, it would have to be really, really difficult.
So it was the one-year anniversary that he joined the Bulldogs and left the Tigers, and the Tigers fans let him know about it in no uncertain terms.
I don't hold that against them, though. I don't hold that against him.
He was under contract.
Do you think fans should boo? Beg your pardon? Do you think fans should boo? Look, I wouldn't turn up at a game and ever boo it. the players. I never would. But you know what? There's so much passion involved in the NRL and in rugby league in general. And if some people choose to pay their hard earned and be so invested in their club, I think they're entitled to do what the hell they want when they're at a game. Look, let's be real. Manly fans did it to Cherry Evans. in his return for the Roosters to Brookie earlier this year. He copped it, he wore it, smiled all the way through.
I think he led them to a win, and it is what it is. I went to a game last year. Parramatta played St. George. Zach Lomax had gone to Parramatta, and Gutho had gone to St. George. And both players, whenever they touched the ball from both set of fans, got booed. Yeah, it was a great atmosphere. I don't mind booing. I think it's part of the game, you know.
And Canterbury took this on. They took on Lockie. He was at the Tigers. He was contracted for what, another year and a half at the time? And this all happened. It was a bitter moment. And let's not forget Crawls.
He got offered big money to stay at West Tigers. Yeah, he did. Five-year contract, $6 million, 1.2. For a teenager.
