What are the key storylines and top contenders in the women's 47 kg class for Worlds 2026?
And the band is back together. And Ten years. I just wanna say this real quick. I won't I won't make it long. Ten years This is ten years of world championships for me doing commentary. And um KOTL also started in twenty sixteen. Ten fucking years of podcasting and commentary. That's a decade long. That's a lot. But we're gonna start off. The first episode will be the women's. And we have our selected scouting for the different weight classes. But obviously, anybody who wants to jump in with some opinions, especially dissenting opinions, by all means, um jump in. So I got the women's 47 kilo class. I wanted this one. And holy frickin' mole, we have never seen a forty-seven kilo class like this one. Obviously, so I reached out to the different athletes as well as coaches.
And Triple TIFF, I believe, is still the favorite, but I have some notes. So I asked Pana directly, what are the goals here and what does this look like to you? He said twenty twenty six, a number one objective, win worlds, number two, ten times body weight at Sheffield. I don't know if you guys think that's crazy. I don't know if you guys think that's feasible and on the table. Ten times body weight in the lightest weight class on the women's side. On the table now. But to just merely win is gonna take a lot. Let's stay on turbo tier for a second here. Scouting will show you on May 11th, she posted up a squat of 175 kilos. For perspective, um she's done 165.5. That's a massive PR squat for TurboTIF. Ten kilos almost right there.
Also, scouting will show you a personal best on May 3rd, 110 kilos. Personal best 101.5. Th these are huge numbers being posted up by TurboTIF, especially on the subtotal. On the deadlifts, May third, she posted one hundred and seventy five kilos and personal best is one hundred seventy. Let me double check this here. Um So actually, sorry, her personal best is one eighty. I think she did that uh not as uh forty-seven. If I'm not mistaken in perusing this, yeah, she was slightly over. Um and she did 180. She weed in at 48.3. Um, but which is a small cut, but I don't know if she cut down to 48.3. And um she's also benched 107.5. Uh that was at Sheffield. So the bench is actually Um heavier as well. All right, there we go.
So TurboTIF is hitting PR lifts in prep for this. We think we're gonna see the best possible turbo tiff we we're gonna get. Um, potentially historically, and I think her body weight's on point and she's stronger than she's ever been. She's more motivated than she's ever been. She's gonna need to be. Why you might ask? Because Canada and US have two killers in the house now. Emily Um Pichet Plant, and I'm gonna double back on that name at Worlds to make sure I'm pronouncing it right. Posted up at Canadian Nationals 436.5. Now you might be thinking, well, that's a bit a stitch away from TurboTIF. I got you. TurboTIF's best 454.5 out of Sheffield. Decent enough. But since then, in prep for this, and this is training best lifts over the course of a week, she posted up four fifty in prep.
Where's her body weight? Speaking to her coach, she's on maintenance right now, hovering around that body weight that she's supposed to be for the cut, as opposed to doing a drastic cut. If you want to know the type of cut we're talking. Last year in Germany. Emily posted up w showed up as a fifty-seven. A fifty's ten kilos higher and totaled four thirty coming in twelfth. Emily posts up 436 as a 47 at Canadian Nationals. A 10 kilo drop in hitting a PR total. It is the craziest. this type of an ask. If you follow her online, she's working at a gym at the front desk, she's getting her steps in the whole nine. She's constantly working towards this. Whatever some of her lifts look like coming into this. Well, one sixty-three personal best squat, May sixteenth, she posted up a one fifty-seven point five squat.
93 kilo bench press coming into this personal best on platform. May 16th, she did 102.5. Bench is soaring right now. Her coach actually had said um one of the biggest things they found by maintaining body weight as opposed to a big cut before the weigh-in is the bench press.
