What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
The following podcast is a Dear Media production.
This is Let's Be Honest with Kristen Cavallari, a podcast all about getting real and open on everything from sex, relationships, reality TV, wellness, family, and so much more. And just a fair warning, there will probably be some oversharing.
Because I got all the power, yeah. Without further ado, please help me welcome Pete Crow Armstrong and Carson Kelly.
Woo!
Okay. Are you guys ready for this?
No. No. How are you guys doing?
Ask Carson. He's a catcher. I'm tired. I'm really tired.
You guys are tired. Well, I appreciate you being here. I know it's been a long weekend. You guys are busy. You guys play in front of roughly 42,000 people almost every single day. So does something like this, a more intimate setting, make you nervous? Or are you guys cool as a cucumber?
Probably more, actually.
You're nervous?
No. I mean, are you nervous, Pete?
No.
Yeah, slightly. Slightly. Yeah, we mess up on the baseball field all the time, so I don't want to mess up here.
People's eyes are right on it. You can, like, tune it out at the field, right?
Yeah, here and there. You've got the mask on, so you can... I get to hide. You can hide.
I get to hide.
I feel like I'm on an island sometimes in center field, but no, I mean, this is great. Slightly nerve-wracking, but it's nice to see everybody.
Well, my audience is primarily female. And while I know that they love baseball, they...
Gotta love a live audience.
They love baseball, but they love talking about dating. And they love athletes. But they love knowing how to get the athlete, okay? So we're going to talk about that tonight.
Oh, boy.
Does that sound good?
Great. Sounds good. We'll just go with it. Sounds good.
All right, let's go. All right, what's the biggest misconception women have about professional athletes?
I don't know if I could speak for all the other sports, but we play 162 games a year. So, well, yeah, we're on the road all the time. So if we're talking like social life and partying and anything like that, we spend more time drinking, going to bars, hanging out with anybody. We spend all of our time really doing that with each other. We have a lot of fun on the plane.
On the plane? Like post-game?
Yeah.
That's where the party starts.
You guys are just getting lit coming home from a... Well, that is our party.
Well, part of the time we're dehydrated already, so like one beer, you're like, oh gosh.
I mean, if we get stuck on the... Like a one-for-one with the water. Yeah, I mean, if we get stuck on the on the tarmac, you never know what can happen. But like that, I don't know, we don't I think we're so tired all the time that we don't actually live like a life that you heard about, like the the Yankees living in the 90s and all that stuff. Like, I think times have changed and. We like drinking beers with the guys and playing cards and that's really it. You get to the hotel room and you're done.
Beat. Yeah. Beat. I mean, it's a full-time job. I mean, the off-season, you're training. And then the season is 162 games and 172 days. So it's a lot.
Yeah.
The diet is also not as crazy. I cheat all the time.
The what?
McDonald's, bro. Oh. I eat a lot of McDonald's. You eat a lot of McDonald's? I love McDonald's. I love when they have Chick-fil-A on the plane.
You're an athlete.
Double quarter pounder with cheese.
So gone are the days where you baseball boys have a girlfriend in every city, huh? That's old news. Far gone.
I don't know if I was ever built for that life. I never got into that whole spiel. That's good.
Keep it that way. Okay, what's something women think men care about but they actually don't?
You want to go first on this one? I got to think about that one for a second. What women think men care about, but they actually don't?
Stumped them. Second question. Question two. Shoot, guys, come on.
You guys really stumped us.
We need to get these boys a shot or something. What do they really care about? What'd you say? Yeah, go for it. I like that. We'll riff off of you guys. That's a great idea. I would say like weight also maybe.
