It's been really nice for me to have a minute. I... Things were towards the end of the... The last couple of months of school were so crazy with travel basketball and Sailor doing volleyball. All three of my kids doing the most at once was a lot. And the travel basketball... Oh, my God. Anyone who is involved in travel sports.
Fuck. Do you get it? It's a lot. It's your whole life. So, and then that on top of like work at 110 and like doing all the things, it's been a lot. So I'm really enjoying summer now and taking a step back and having a bit of a break. My kids are not doing camps or anything. And that's been really nice. Usually the boys do football and they're not doing football this year. And I'm so happy. What a relief. I'm so relieved. I was getting a little nervous just thinking about this upcoming football season. And then they both told me they're not going to play anymore. So I'm really happy about that. So we really, quite honestly, everyone's having a chill summer and it's been really, really nice. So I hope you guys are also having a nice chill summer as well.
And okay, so today... We are gonna wrap up this little mini Hills rewatch series that I've been doing today with the series finale. This was so fun for me to watch. I really, I really enjoyed doing this. I'm glad that I did this and I'm glad that you guys have liked it. The finale was kind of an emotional roller coaster for me. You know what also too, it's just going back to that time in my life. I just like on one hand, it feels like a completely different lifetime. And then on another hand, it feels like yesterday. And this moment in my life, like my early twenties, 21, 22, 23, they were, they're so special. They were so fun. And like, you think you have so much responsibility, but really you don't have any, like barely had any compared to what I have now.
And Oh, it's just such a time in everyone's life. So it was fun for just to reminisce on that time period and also just to go back and watch this. Okay, so this is the finale, the series finale. This is episode 12 of season six. And this aired originally July 12th, 2010. How is that even possible? God, it literally does feel like yesterday. So... I didn't watch the episodes in between the first episode of this season, which was Miami, which we just did, and this episode. So a lot has clearly happened and I don't know what happened because I don't really remember it. I mean, I do remember in this season, there was a shift in how they showed me. I think what they realized was There's a formula to these shows and your main character has to be likable, at least back then.
Or I think, no, they still, still, your main character has to be likable. And when you're constantly painting me in this really bad light, I mean, and I will, I've always said that people who liked me fucking, they ride, they go hard for me, you know? But like a lot of people did not like me. And that doesn't work as your main character. You need more people to be rooting for your main character. So I know somewhere in this season, there was a shift where they started to show me in a better light. And a lot of times what that meant in a better light For a main character is that the girls like you. So now me and all the girls are buddies. You know, go figure. And we're going to talk about it more in this episode.
But why is it that the main character, at least back then, had to be... a bit of a victim or like me getting my heart broken from Brody makes me more, what, relatable, more likable? Like, why does that have to be the case? So they showed me in that light in this episode and I was like, oh, I don't like this because it's so not me.
