If you want to pump your body and expand your mind, there's only one place to go. Mind Pump. Mind Pump. With your hosts, Sal DiStefano, Adam Schafer, and Justin Andrews.
You just found the most downloaded fitness, health, and entertainment podcast. Almost half a billion downloads. This is Mind Pump. Today's episode, we answered live caller's questions. People called in, we got to help them and coach them on air. But this was after our intro. Today's intro is 58 minutes long. And in the intro, we talk about fat loss and muscle gain and nutrition. We talk about current events and family life. Look, if you want to be on an episode like this, here's what you do. Email us your question. Send it to MPLifeCaller.com. Now, this episode is brought to you by some sponsors. The first one is Seed. This is the world's best probiotic. Today, I talked about how probiotics have been shown in many, many studies to help with fat loss and muscle gain.
It's true. It's not just for gut health. It's not just for skin health. Probiotics help you get to your goals faster. And Seed is the best. Go to seed.com forward slash mindpump. Use the code 25mindpump. Get 25% off. This episode is also brought to you by Keon. Today I talked about their essential amino acids. Their essential amino acids contain all of the amino acids you need for protein synthesis. This is the process. of building muscle. But most importantly, it's very high in leucine, very high in leucine, 2000 milligrams per serving. Go check them out. Go to getkeon.com slash mindpump. That's G-E-T-K-I-O-N.com slash mindpump on that link. You'll get 20% off. We also have a brand new workout program, MAPS Upper Lower.
It's a four-day muscle building fat loss split. You're in the gym four days a week. You hit your upper and lower body twice a week. There's a men and women's version. The women's version has more lower body volume, more butt building focus than the men's version. And because it's a brand new program, both of them are 40% off. Go to MAPSUpperLower.com. Use the code LAUNCH for the 40% off discount.
And it's T-shirt time. Ah, shit, Doug. You know it's my favorite time of the week. One winner this week for Facebook, it's Michael Stankiewicz. Michael, you send the name that I just read to iTunes at mindpumpmedia.com. Include your shirt size and your shipping address. And for the rest of you, if you can leave a review either in Apple Podcasts or Facebook, you have a very good chance of winning.
All right, real quick. If you love us like we love you, why not show up by rocking one of our shirts, hats, mugs, or training gear over at mindpumpstore.com. I'm talking right now. Hit pause. Head on over to mindpumpstore.com. That's it. Enjoy the rest of the show.
When it comes to exercise, there's two main goals that people typically have. Either they're trying to build or they're trying to cut. So it makes sense if your goal is to cut, you cut. If you're trying to build, you go for building. But is this always true? What should you do first regardless of your goal? Does it make sense to do one versus the other first? Build or cut first? We're going to break it down. Let's go.
I love this conversation just because I feel like we've talked about it so many times on the podcast, but it – I still get tons of DMs and questions around because I feel like nobody thinks it should be them. And I know where you're going with this, right? Like everyone's just like, yeah, but I need to lose this.
I have a lot of weight to lose.
Yeah. So what do you think about this? You know, and it's just like, we just talked about that. And this is what everybody should do. I don't care how much weight it is. And so I still think it's not very popular. And I still think that you're getting advice – like you go to a doctor, right, and you're 50 to 100 pounds overweight and cholesterol is high, blood pressure is high. Doctor says to you right away, you need to lose some weight.
Right now.
Right now.
Cut your calories. It's an alarmist approach for sure.
Yeah. And so – and it's coming in from medical advice too.
