For the average American, obesity is a challenge. It's a real issue. But here's the deal.
What are the five simple, sustainable ways to fix obesity long‑term?
It doesn't have to be hard to fix. In fact, we're going to give you five easy ways that for most of you will actually fix challenges with obesity. Trust them. They work. Follow them. And they're easy. Let's get to it.
Do you think it's the lack of motivation or overcorrection as the biggest mistake of why?
Oh, boy. I think when people attempt to, let's quote unquote, fix this problem. they overdo all of it.
That's got to be the most common. So the overcorrection.
Yeah, they just overdo all of it, and there's no – I mean, how many times have I quoted it?
Everybody knows it's important, but it's like, yeah, the approach is usually way off.
And it's more simple than people realize. I think people try to rush the process.
Yeah, yeah.
And the data – I mean, I've quoted this data so many times, but there's small odds that you'll succeed – at losing substantial body weight. There's even smaller odds of within that group of people actually do lose five to 10% of the body weight. There's even smaller odds that they'll maintain it. So the real challenge is the maintenance is the sustainability. That's the real problem. The problem isn't losing weight, although that's a challenge. It's keeping it off. It's keeping it off. And so that's what we need to consider.
That's a greater number than even the amount of people that don't even attempt. Yes.
I would think so. Yes. The average person has attempted to lose weight once or twice. So it's actually quite common for – I mean you talk to the average person. You ever try to lose weight? Right. Yes. So it's really – they overdo it or have the wrong approach or the wrong idea. which results in something that's totally unsustainable. Either they don't accomplish anything substantial, or they do, and then they don't maintain it.
