Was asked immediately about his contract situation. He's got one year left on uh contract number two, a max term length deal, eight years, twelve point five million dollars. And uh McDavid going into law last year of that deal, which means as of July first, theoretically, he could sign an extension. Now remember Leon Dreisidel did not sign an extension until uh early in September. Uh here is Connor McDavid on his contract situation. As you said, yeah, it's only been a couple of days.

um since the the season ended. Um You know, take some time to uh to regroup, you know, talk to uh by aging a little bit and um family and all that and and make some decisions when whenever that time comes. But There's no rush.

Uh winning would be At the top of the list and then um You know, winning would be the It's the most important thing. Um, if I feel that there's a uh a good window to win here, um, over and over again, um, then signing is no problem. Um, you know, um Yeah, I I I I I again it's it's it's only been a couple of days. Um You know. I'm sure we'll get into it over the over the course of the next couple of weeks. Um But again I I I'm not in a rush to uh to make any decision. So I don't think that there needs to be any timeline, you know, I know people are gonna look at that July one day and and and be looking to see if there's anything done. Um But for me there's no I'm not I'm just not in a rush that way, so

Again, uh, we've brought this up over the last couple of days. Connor is represented by Judd Moldaver. Judd has uh Austin Matthews. Matthews has never done a max term length deal uh with uh the NHL's most important franchise, the Toronto Maple Leafs, they'll just tell you about it on a daily basis. Um Leon Dreisidel, meanwhile, shared his insight on McDavid's contract situation.
