Welcome everybody, Bob Stoffer live in Rogers Place. The Edmonton Oil Kings and the Regina Pats tonight. Canada, Sweden, here on 880 Chad. Uh we'll have the call of the game tonight at 6 o'clock. Bob Stauffer with you. Brendan Escott, uh big part of the show. I'm gonna help it out because I pulled one of the dumbest moves I have over. the course uh I mean year seventeen of uh doing the Oilers uh Radio Network broadcasts and also uh sixteenth year now hosting uh this show uh be it uh Oilers Lunch or Euler's Now or moving into the afternoon drive. And uh man oh man, I'm uh thanking Brendan today. Derek Scott and Kellen Kennedy are uh uh back at the eighty eighty Chad Studios. Sidney Crosby said, Hey, he'd love to see Cole play play the Super Bowl and uh thought it would be appropriate Canada and Sweden tonight.
So today I go to V meet uh Drew Shamahorn, uh from Elite. Uh we go in a little Italy to Sorrino's to go see Mateo and the team there. And uh thinking that I was gonna stay downtown, packed up all my stuff, if you know what I mean, and um Yeah. Went for lunch, met some uh wonderful uh people at the next table, uh that were supporting one of the liberal candidates from the province of Alberta, but not with the last name Carney, so you can figure that out. Long story short, I thought I'd packed my um My briefcase with my computer and other really important things that you would need to travel with. Uh oh yeah. Was on the phone back and forth between uh the humble stoffer abode in the city south side into uh uh in central Edmonton.
Uh came to the building, met a couple uh people at Rogers Place between two and uh three fifteen, went downstairs at three thirty to uh my vehicle. Uh my lovely Brent Ridge Ford truck. And went to go grab the briefcase and it wasn't there. Yeah, I was in a panic. So I'm sitting up here at Roger's place and I've called my neighbors. Uh and fortunately they were able to locate said briefcase. It's right at their front door, right where the dummy that hosts the show left it. So I I gotta tell ya I just uh Brendan's making his way over. I'm doing the show currently off my phone. Uh and I'm gonna need to a cell charger to to get through it today. Uh Matt oh Mad it's uh and I know Derek's back in the studio.
Derek, do you ever have that moment of panic where you're thinking you're and all I'm thinking of is I'm going to Montreal on Friday, I can fly in Canada with a you know, obviously with a driver's license. But uh and there was a time in which all you needed was a driver's license to fly into the United States. But a week from tomorrow We go on a nine day road trip and I gotta fly to the US. Oh no. Yeah, and that passport is in a very specific uh spot, which I've lost about sixty four times on the plane over the course of the last uh seventeen seasons. The boys have a lot of fun with it.
