Yeah, well, interesting road trip. Medicine hat. I mean, thank God, Gavin McKenna and a host of other stars. I don't know the kid from Chetwin that went like fourth or fifth in the draft. I don't think he's playing at the start of the year here. I think he got a little bit injured. But tell us about your team. How many of your players are back from NHL camps? And just your thought process in going into the season.
Yeah, no, it's always an interesting time when you've got guys, you know, not just here, but throughout the league that are away at camps. And we just got two of our seven back so far. So we've got Reese Peterson that was there with the Oilers at the Young Stars tournament back, and then Colby Hay back from the LA Kings as well, which is great for us. I mean, goaltending is so critical. But still missing some pretty significant pieces. both up front and on the back end, and I think as is everybody.

How much did your season change last year when you picked up Grayson Satchin, who's a Florida second-round draft choice? Yeah,
dramatically, I think. Great timing for us. We had just gone on Christmas break and refreshed after another tough start to the year. The trade happened while we were on break. We were up in Prince George. I remember the guys hearing the news. We were just a rejuvenated team and picked up some tremendous momentum from that. He's obviously an incredible talent himself, but I just think he sent a message to some of our other top-end guys that we're going to push each other and be competitive to be better within our group. It certainly led to a much more productive second half.
Yeah, Sachin had 37 games played for you, 43 points. He was a plus player. Your team had a minus 71 goal differential, which just shows you the challenges you had. Luke Pierce joins us. He is the head coach of the Edmonton Oil Kings. Your leading scorer last year, Gavin Hodnett, and he did not get invited to a camp?
Well, he was at a development camp with the Jets this offseason, and yeah, surprisingly did not go to a camp. So it's kind of par for the course for Gavin and his entire kind of, other than going in the first round of the Western League draft, everything else has kind of been, whether it's with Hockey Canada or the draft, I mean, his size has always been something he's fought against, but he continues to prove people wrong. And I know in true Gavin fashion, he'll find a way to do that again.
He had 70 points last year in 61 games, so obviously he and Satchin are expected to be two of your leading scorers. Adam Jaco was a player that some people thought might be a late first-round pick. He ended up going third round to the St. Louis Blues. He had 23 goals and 47 points for you last year in 54 games.
