That's right. And I've got to tell you, I had a couple of people who wrote to me like, They were laughing. They were like, if they were in the same situation, they would have eaten it too. So it was pretty funny.
So we get pizza after every road game if we're flying out that night. And usually what happens is our crack PR staff, three-time winners of the Dick Dillman Award, Jamie Carmel and Andrew Peard make sure that they bring some leftover pizza on the bus. And Cam Moon, who currently carries 0.38% body fat, is a connoisseur of pizza. I've dropped a chin here over the last month. Yeah, but you look good. Yeah, I got another chin still to go. But, no, people wonder, you know, the NHL stands for the Never Hungry League, but that was quite the story. I had a good chuckle. Just before we get to the machinations of what may or may not be happening and some players that have requested trades, just a final assessment for you on a very unique NHL draft Friday night and Saturday in Buffalo.
Well, you know what? I thought it was really interesting. Like, if you would have told me before the draft that Chase Reed would have gone down to seventh and Keaton Verhoff would have gone down to ninth, I don't think I would have believed you, to be honest, Bob. But, you know, there it was. There's always guys that rise out of nowhere. There's always guys that fall out of nowhere. And, you know, scouting 18-, 19-year-olds is so subjective. So I've learned to prepare for it. I'm not at all surprised that McKenna went first. I think he was Toronto's guy. I'm not at all surprised Stenberg went second. I think he was San Jose's guy. And, you know, I think after that, I was a little bit surprised with Caleb Malhotra.
There had been rumors they talked about it and weren't going to do it. Obviously, those were terrible rumors, completely useless. But I thought it was one of the great moments of the draft. I love the draft. I wish they'd go back to it. We'll see what happens. I usually, as usual, like Dax and Rudolph going forth. I didn't see it coming, but I've heard great things about the kid.
All right. Like he went number one on the WHL Bannon draft. Mathis Preston went third that year and Verhoff went fourth, but Verhoff was the guy that dominated as a 16 year old. And all I'm going to say is it does appear. And this does not surprise me based upon many of the amateur scouts that I've met over the years. That there's some people that have some challenges in reconciling to the difference between players playing against men and playing against kids. And there's a big difference. And, Elliot, I... Look, San Jose was thrilled. I guess so. He's been a great player there for a long time. I guess so. And what I would say to you is, as a close observer of the WHL for basically the last 50 years...
With 23 teams now, the top 19-year-olds gone to the NCAA, some of the best 17 and 18, I don't think I'd ever seen a weaker Western League. And I did find it surprising that it seemed to be scored against, at times, the guys that went that NCAA route pre-draft. And I'm going to be very interested to see how... You know, some guys, Carson Carrolls is going to North Dakota. The aforementioned Rudolph is off to the NCAA.
