But without further ado, he's uh the GM of the uh Ebenton Oil Kings, he this team just had a two-inch. Two trip uh out uh to the East and Legot a five-game homestand that drops the puck tonight against the Brandon Wakings. Hello, Kurt Hill. How are you doing? Doing good, Bob. How are you? Uh well, I mean the Oiders have won uh one of their last seven games. The Alberta Golden Bears uh didn't make it to the conference final, so they're not going to nationals. I'm hearing that uh Nebraska, Omaha is gonna be recruiting as many as six players, uh, off of teams uh maybe f as many as four off the Golden Bears and uh maybe one from Saskatchewan and one from another Canada West school. So, you know, uh It it could be better.

You guys are two and two. You're firmly in a playoff spot. The others are in a playoff spot as well. But uh give us an update on your squad. How are you guys going?

Yeah, it's been you know, it was a good month of February for us. We were eight, three and one, um so you know, pretty consistent throughout the entire month. We had some big wins in there too against you know, some of the teams in our division that loaded up and continue to have pretty good records against a few of them. So um optimistic there and um Yeah, a little bit of the injury bug here lately with uh just trying to get guys healthy here down the stretch into the playoffs. But uh all in all, you know, you when you go to the east and you play you play four and six with a lot of travel. It's um you know, I think we w would've loved to come out of that three and one, felt we could've and uh but you come back two and two so you can't be too upset about it I guess at the end of the day.

Uh tonight a matchup of the fifth and sixth place teams in the Eastern Conference and uh Brandon's one point ahead of you with one game in hand overall. You mentioned injuries. I know you just uh it's funny, we were just down in Florida uh against the uh Florida Panthers and I was talking to some of their people about uh uh Grayson Salchin and and and how good of a player is and Of course, uh they drafted Justin Sortiff a few years ago to the Vancouver Giants and you picked him up for your uh twenty twenty two uh WHL championship with the Oil Kings and Sortaf had scored in the previous game's first NHL uh uh goal. Uh but Salchin had been hurt but he is now back. Is that correct? For 'cause I mean, he really does drive your offense.

Yeah, no, he certainly does. Yeah, he's back in the lineup. He you know, he's didn't he came back and it doesn't really look like he missed too much of a stride, so um yeah, he's been playing well here for us and uh still driving a lot and uh yeah Hodnet's the guy now that's been uh offensively who's been out here um you know the last couple of games and uh probably another week for him.
