Most of the teams play a mistake game. They play it back, back, back, then the goalies boot it. Oh, you already read this text. You already read this text. IMAX getting a double play here. Soccer's also like the basketball. It's got maybe two great players. Well, I don't know about that. And somehow people are... That's crazy. We'll get Louie DeBruyne's thoughts as we go to the River Creek Resort and Casino Hotline. River Creek Resort and Casino. Excitement, Ben. We're asking you, are you a soccer fan? What insights does Louie DeBrusk share about soccer?
All right. Doing all right. First question. Soccer. Yay or nay? Are you a fan of it?
Yeah. You know what? It's a great game. It is a great game. I don't follow it a ton on the professional level, but what I will say is... Any kind of competition at that level, at the highest level, is fun to watch. It doesn't matter what it is for me. Especially the team sports, I think that it gets you into it. I don't cheer for any particular team. Obviously, Canada is the team that I would hope to win. But, no, I don't follow it like Gene does. Gene's a big soccer guy. I know he follows his Italian team. And they did make it again. Darn. Yeah. But yes, you know what? Listen, when you have competition at that level, I think in any sport, it's always exciting to watch it because it becomes the best. It becomes the best in the world.
But I agree with I heard the one caller's remarks about the game changing, the diving. That's the one thing that I still don't like about the game, the embellishing, the diving. I've never understood it. And it's never been taken out of the game, so I don't think it ever will be. But that's what it is. And you know what? Listen, it's still a great game. Both my kids played it. I played it when I was a kid. My wife played it, Cindy. So, yeah, soccer's a good game.
And you know the European players that are on their respective NHL teams follow it incredibly closely.
Yes, big time. It's incredible. There is passion, if not more passionate about that game than we are about hockey here. which is incredible when you think about it because you know how passionate the fan base is here about hockey. They're just as passionate in those countries about their soccer, and I would say even more, even more.
Yeah. Louie, you know, and you know how much I love NCAA college football because you stormed into my booth in the fall on Saturdays, and I'm watching Alabama play, and you're like, are you even working stuff? Like, is Scam doing this game solo? That's why we call you the brain. You can do multiple things at once.
