Canada pounded Switzerland 7-3 yesterday. Meanwhile, Slovakia got a great goaltending performance through two periods, and the goalie got hurt and lost 4-3 in overtime to Sweden. We will tell you it's 4-36 in oil country. Bob Stauffer going old school. Doing this one off the reported app.

I'm doing great, Stoph. You're right.
I'm about 150 metres away, pal. It's nice to be here. I'm enjoying the tournament.
A little hot right now, but let's get to it. Canada with the 7-3 victory yesterday after a tough sequence of events at the Summer Showcase. On Saturday, they lost 7-2 to the U.S., had a tough goaltending performance, and we saw some pretty good players in that game for Canada, and Canada got routed, and then Canada lost 6-0 to the Czechs in a warm-up game here for Lincoln-Gretzky. So a very tough day for Hockey Canada, but a bounce-back performance at least initially in the 7-3 victory yesterday to open the actual round-robin portion of the tournament. maybe assess Canada's performance overall against Swiss, and do we have to factor in that maybe Switzerland and Germany are maybe, you know, lacking compared to some of the other hockey countries that are at this tournament, Jason?
Yeah, for sure. I mean, the depth that Switzerland and Germany bring to an event like this is a lot different than the depth that Team Canada can bring. The Canadian roster in the summertime, generally speaking, is the deepest roster. They've got all of the kids that yet to report to their PHL clubs, for example, and in the case of Landon Dupont, he hasn't hit the... We had to hit the campus of Michigan yesterday. When you factor all that in, this is Canada's best team in terms of U18 availability and makes it difficult for some of these other rosters. Canada was fine yesterday. They were good enough. I didn't think they... I didn't think they were off the charts very often, but they did, obviously, enough to win.
They gave a team in Switzerland that was sort of a one- or two-man show. But Landon Dupont was really steady for Team Canada. A lot of players thought England was really good. They asked him to quit. Lots of likes. It has to go around in this roster. We'll see how it goes the rest of the week, but as you come over from the team's Sweden game next door, they're playing the Swiss today, and the Swiss are giving them a game, but Sweden looks really, really strong as well.
All right. I want to, you know, start with Landon DuPont and Alexis Joseph because they're sort of the consensus top two picks. And I don't know what you saw, but Joseph reminded me a lot of Quentin Byfield, a big rangy guy that. Was not an explosive skater yet. Maybe he's going to grow into it now. Todd McClellan was the head coach of L.A. back in that draft year. And I remember that was the, off the top of my head, I think it was the 2019 draft. And I was like, you know, my bet was on Byfield growing in and becoming the guy.
