Thursday morning. We're off to Windsor. So that's the first event for the Hockey Canada guys, for the World Juniors.

For the World Juniors. And you've got Reshne, Jackson Smith, and Berhoff all there? Yeah, Braden Kutz and Chase Harrington and probably, yeah, that would be the group. All right, so I think it's fair to assume that Kutz, if he's not playing in the NHL, Reschne, Verhoeff, and Smith are all probably going to be on the team. Yeah, I think so. Yeah, all right. So maybe explain this to the parents out there listening. This has been a massive change with what's occurred with the NCAA, hasn't it been?

Gerry Johannson 1:40

It's been incredible. Forever you couldn't sign a junior contract. Usually kids sign at 14 or 15 and they're ineligible. Now it's completely reversed. You can play two, three, four years of junior and go off to the school of your choice. It's really been a sea change for hockey.

Bob Stauffer 1:58

All right, so Coutts stayed and played major junior last year. Verhoeven and Reschne went to North Dakota. Jackson Smith went to go play for Guy Grodowski at Penn State. And, I mean, I think there's some misconceptions. I mean, it's not football NIL money, but the players still and their families still can benefit from the NCAA experience, can't they?

Yeah, actually, yeah, they are providing NIL money. It's not huge money, but it's fairly significant, you know.

Where is Gerry Johanson headed and which World Juniors prospects is he with?

But like we tell our guys, I mean, you're going to go for the right reason. Money is certainly not the primary reason to go. It's more really for the opportunity if you're interested in school. And a lot of our guys are, and some of them aren't. So, you know, Braden Coos, for example, you know, signed his pro deal, and he was happy to be in Seattle and get traded to Prince Albert. So, you know, it's like anything we do. It's on a client-by-client basis.

All right. So you've got the summer showcase and a look at the world junior guys out in Ontario and then you race back and you got the link of Gretzky because you've got kids involved in that as well. Not just kids from Canada, but kids from other countries as well.

Yeah, that's going to be fun. We get to see our European partners and players for the first time. And to be fair, it's actually nice because we don't have to travel. So it's perfect for a change of an event. We're big fans of that.

Yeah, well, and to double compound that this year, the World Juniors are here in Edmonton as well. I'm going to miss it because I'm going to be on the road, Jerry, as you know, with the Oilers during that stretch. But I know it's going to be a wonderful event. I got to ask you this. We got a couple of questions and texts on the Ashley five floors text line. Uh, you know, you're, you're sorry. You've been in this for how long now, Jerry? How many years? Pretty much 30, a little over 30 years. 30 years. How challenging was the start and what sort of mileage did you, I mean, it was a different world back then, you know, people didn't use computers, didn't have video on players, didn't have cell phones, all that kind of stuff.
