Good. Uh a couple of your clients slash players that you advise, uh Keaton Verhoff and Cole Reschni, uh kind of shook up uh the the world of uh prospects in terms of the major juniors slash N C double A. For the listeners that did not hear on Friday, uh Uh both Reschny, who is a twenty twenty-five draft eligible, expected to go fifteenth to say twenty-fifth in this year's draft, and Verhoff, uh a twenty twenty-six draft eligible, six foot four right shot defenseman, expected to be a top three pick next year. They both committed to uh North Dakota. Jerry, these are uh that was a big announcement, and these are very interesting. Interesting times, aren't they?

Very, yeah, very like I said, yeah, we talked about this earlier that nothing's changed in hockey for fifty years really. A little bit, a little little tiny changes and this is a C change. So the b the big thing was the N Couble A allowing CHL players to play, regain their eligibility to play N C double A. And it just so happened that Keaton and Cole were sort of the first guys over the wall, so to speak.

So, uh the Victoria Royals are where they both played junior hockey. They went to round two of the WHL playoffs. They lost to WHL final Spokane in six games. Uh Victoria's coached by James Patrick, who ironically enough played as college hockey at North Dakota. Um and they were seen with Verhoff and Reschnie on the team next season as to be the pre season.

season Western uh conference uh favorite. Um how does this like how how does this process sort of uh take place? Because it has to be, you know, shattery news for the Victoria Royals to lose two players that good.

Gerry Johannson 3:21

Oh, a hundred percent. Yeah. And Victoria's a great program, to be fair. They're a really, really solid program. And uh it j the difference is now that kids have options. And uh just like everybody, like I said, if uh you know, if a coach of the Western League could get a job at the NHL, he'd take it. You know, if uh if an assistant general manager in the Western Hockey League could get a GM job with a different team, he'd take it. So I think with the kids, you know, they're just exploring opportunities and it's really up to them what they want to do. Our job is to make sure they make a you know, a thorough decision. They've thought it through. And uh yeah, North Dakota's a pretty good spot, so both of those kids are gonna give it a shot.

All right, so I is it do you think the WHL envisioned, Jerry, when this happened, that they'd be losing, you know, sixteen and seventeen year old players to the N C double A? Because most of the recruits now for the N D N C double A don't start school until they're nineteen.

Yeah, true. And I think that, you know, because early on we we know, most of our kids that went there were like, you know, youth uh s uh youth sport guys.
