All right, so h maybe explain to our listeners how different this is with a decent we just had Rick Pracy, the head amateur scout for the Orders. Now Edmonton only has a third, a sixth, and a seventh, but last year they didn't have a first rounder. They ended up trading into the first round. So you never know. But this is the first time we've had a league-wide decentralized draft. How does it change for the kids and for your clients?

Well I I always I always thought like the draft has as run forever has been a really cool event for everybody. I think the teams liked it m generally.

Um and it's great for us 'cause the p you know, the parents and the players get to see the teams and the media's there and they get to meet the teams after so it's a whole thing. So this is just a little bit different. It's gonna be a little Uh yeah, I'll I'll have to report back in after, but it's gonna be a little less exciting, I think. Except for the kids, they're still getting drafted.

How many of your clients are going?

Well we have three kids three guys coming down. So um and I'm pretty sure all three will be first round picks. Um and then, you know, as normal we have probably have a couple of second rounders and maybe three, four or five other players throughout the draft. Yeah, is them all right.

Okay. I mean you've had years where you've had number one overall picks. I mean you represented uh Yurez Slovkowski as an example. Uh Kirby Doc is with the Scorts uh Sports Corporation. He went third. Uh I'm trying to I mean how how far back do we did you have Christoph? I'm just trying to recall. I mean how many guys how many top how how many top ten guys have you had over the last uh I don't know, twenty five years? Yeah. Oh.

Oh God, probably fifteen or so, I'd say. Oh. At least fifteen. Something like that. Yeah. You know, we try to give the kids a r we gotta try to get all the rankings come out. Everybody's got a ranking, but we try to give the kids a range, you know, like because you never know. I mean, 'cause even the teams don't know what they're doing until it's their turn to pick. So you know, you sort of have to keep your uh your bottom line is these kids are that are coming to the draft are gonna get drafted, so that's the main thing and then where they go is is sort of

All right. Uh so you got three players going down. How many combined family members on tour? Like what are you looking at as a result of the and we'll discuss the three kids in a second, but what are we looking at? Thirty, forty, fifty people going down as part of these groups?

Gerry Johannson 3:37

Yeah, I'd say about forty people and then usually our dinner is closer to fifty 'cause we have, you know, friends and the odd, you know, person that's down there we we know we invite 'em all out. So we really on uh on Thursday night try to have a good a really cool party and dinner and just sort of relax. Get everybody's got butterflies and then after that we just sort of play it by ear.
