Doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that as a trades business, we've got to be marketing our business literally everywhere. And if we're not marketing our business in the right manner, what we end up with is we end up with that feast or famine. where some months or some weeks or some quarters you're incredibly busy because the leads are just rolling in. But then there are other times where it's like famine. All of a sudden, for for no particular reason Your leads just dry up and you stop quoting. And when that starts to happen, what what starts to happen to you? Panic station starts to kick in. Because now you're concerned that you've not got enough enquiries coming in, you're not quoting enough jobs, and therefore you've not got enough work coming in for your team.
Or if you're a one-person band for you and you've got overheads to pay. And now panic stations start to kick in because you've got outgoings, but you've got nothing coming in. And most trades businesses are not struggling because, like I said, there's a lack of work out there. There's loads of work out there. Even in a recession, and I've come through two huge recessions, one in the 90s and one in 2008 through to 2012. But even in a recession. There are still people that need your services, so they still work out there and What you're struggling with is you've not got the right attract or conversion strategy sat behind your business. And then because of that, we end up blaming the market, the current market.
We end up blaming our competitors. We end up blaming the economy and every other BS excuse that you can come up with. When in reality, the problem is not there's no work out there. The problem is your attract strategy and your conversion strategy on how you're converting those. leads into happy paying customers. And all this were highlighted yet again to me last week. Because last week, my inner circle members were moving into five full months of just working on all their different marketing strategies. From their social media to the websites to SEO to funnel building to video marketing to AI and everything in between, right? And as part of the introduction that we were going through. I introduced to him the attract strategy.
And when I said to him, right, what are you doing as part of your attract strategy to attract your target market in the highest concentration to your business? As normal, most people said to me, Craig, I don't even know what an attract strategy is. I'm like, right. So let me just explain to you, if you're listening now, what an attract strategy is. Your attract strategy is utilizing all the different strategies and methods and ways in which you can market your business across lots of different mediums, lots of different platforms, lots of different ways you can market your business, right?
