Alright, Julie. We're gonna hopefully help take the stress away. What's going on with you? Why uh why are you on FML?
Ah, well my boyfriend he quit his job and now he's full time on the couch. How do I wake him up?
Damn. So uh Julie Rosa says, Hey Razumoka, fix my life. Uh yeah, my boyfriend quit about a year ago because he was being taken advantage of and ripped off with his pay. I'm proud of him for standing up for himself and leaving, but my fix my life is all that he's been doing is sitting at home, playing video games. He's applied for two jobs and got turned down and has no motivation to look anywhere. I work Monday to Friday, eight to seven PM as well.
I love him with all my heart and I just don't know what to do.
Have you, Julie, told him all of that? Have you told him, look at the hours that I'm working, I'm doing this for us. I love you so much. We are barely making it by right now. I really need you to step up and and try to find a job. All the time. And what's his answer? What's his reply?
He says he's depressed and he gets that little bit of achievement for playing these video games and he has no motivation and I don't know what to do to motivate him. I try to support, be positive, but it's not enough.

I have spoken to him about it and I've even told him, you know, I've gone for therapy myself and it it can help people, but he does he well, his statement is I'm not crazy. I don't need help like that.

And and therapy may not be for him because it's not for everybody, but he needs to know that the way out of this is a win. Okay. And not a video game win, but an actual win at life. And He has to work for that himself. Like it's not just gonna fall in his lap. And life is easy right now because you're taking care of things and he knows that if he falls too far, you're still gonna be there to catch him. And he is probably very, very close to resentment as well, because once that kicks in where he realizes that, you know, you're the one paying for everything, then he's gonna gonna start to feel even more worthless and probably go into a deeper, you know, hole. Um so you gotta try and drag him out. And the the way out of something like this is that he needs a win.
And and part of that is he has to fight for himself.

You can only do so much and I wouldn't go at any of these conversations with separating the two of you. You're working, he's not. Um it's make it about the team.

I I'm guessing he's avoiding rejection. I'm guessing he's avoiding disappointment because he thinks that, you know, one person says no to me and I may never come back.
