I think my life is...
Hello. Welcome to the award-winning gutter, which is apparently live. Thanks, Josh. Good job you were there for me. Yeah, you're welcome. Well, I'm all confused now. Who have I got? I've got Josh.
I've got Ian
Ryan. I've got Seanie Sean Rogers. And I've got me. What's my name? I've forgotten. Rob Goodman coming in your ears. The award-winning transfer gutter showed the window may be slammed shut, but the gutter is always open for business. Do you like that? Do
you like that? I thought of that while
I was sitting on the cam this morning. Okay. What are we going to talk about? There's no transfer window, Sean, is there? But what we're going to talk about is we're going to look ahead to the January transfer window. That's all we can do. And Crystal Ball goes as to how LFC might behave and how the market might act and react around us. But I want to start off with a real fun topic close to my heart, Josh. It's about how fucked Man City might be. That's what I can preface it as. Well, you know, I think we've got to enjoy how fucked they might be just for the time being before the universe corrects itself in their favor, as it tends to do when they throw enough money to expensive lawyers, allegedly or something.
But let's, you know, we are within the realm that the sanctions break in all seriousness within the next couple of months, I think. I mean, I've heard all sorts of timescales from two months to six months before we actually hear what punishment is intended for them, before they even think about appealing the mofo. But let's assume it happens before January. Actually, it doesn't even matter if we assume it happens before January. They are in a state of limbo, I would suggest, as a football club right now. You could have argued they have been for the last eight years in a certain sense, but they've managed to PR it strongly enough that they've convinced the world, and by the world I mean players and managers, that they're not in limbo, that everything's fine.
In fact, I think if you look at the statement from their chief exec last week, where he goes, nope, everything's fine, we're still going to be innocent. I think if you're him, that kind of gaslighting, alleged gaslighting, should I say, is actually quite a reasonable thing to do because you've got to, until otherwise dealt with, you've got to keep things on track. Because if they show any hint of weakness, they can't approach a footballer anywhere in the universe who's not going to go, are you having a laugh? We don't even know what division we'll be lining up for you in. They, regardless of the sanction of the appeal, at this point in time, I would contend, I don't see how they do transfer business.
Well,
for
me, it
goes beyond that. And I think about the lads they've already got. Yeah, them too. There has to be some sort of fireside if this goes through. I think it will go through. I think that relegation has to be a minimum. And I think the championship would be too nice, personally, because they'll just come back in one season. It has to be stronger than that. So if that's the case, you know, we could spend the next hour Listing players we'd take from Man City. I mean, I could list five or ten off the top of my head
now. Indy Kyler was saying he had an exclusive yesterday, and I choose to believe every word
he says,
that Jeremy, Doku and Semenya were looking covetously at a place in the Liverpool squad,
wanting to
get out of Dodge, quick start.
Yeah, I mean, with Doku, we need left-winger, don't we? We've only got one or two of them. We are short left-wingers. With Simeone, I'd take Simeone, definitely, but it's like a proper guttural topic, to be honest, because it's the kind of thing that you just speculate, who would you take from City, who would you take from United and all that, but it never really comes through. Whereas with this, if they go down to, like, League Two, mate...
You think
they fell
too off? Well, they've got no choice. You suppose so. They've got no choice. People would want their players. Honestly,
it'd be a bias, it'd have to be.
