Description

The Stanley Cup Playoffs have arrived and the entire gang is here to get you ready! We kick it off with some great end-of-season moments for a pair of legends, Alex Ovechkin and Marc-André Fleury, before diving into wins and fails of the week, including Gabriel Landeskog's return to the ice and future NHL superstar Gavin McKenna. Has Roy really never seen an episode of Friends or Toy Story? Then, DJ Bean and Pete Blackburn of the What Chaos podcast join the show to inflate Rose's ego and preview some of the epic matchups in these Stanley Cup Playoffs. Does anybody have the courage to pick the Los Angeles Kings over the Edmonton Oilers? Finally, the gang hands out their predictions for the Florida Panthers matchup with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Chapter 1: Who are the hosts and guests featured on The Hockey Show Playoff Preview?

Chapter 2: What are the key Stanley Cup Playoff matchups this season?

50.456 - 77.032 Roy

This isn't on the show. No, that's just Jason. That's Jason's way of telling everybody to shut the fuck up. Sorry. It is playoff time, ladies and gentlemen. Stanley Cup playoffs starts this weekend. This is the Hockey Show. My name is Roy Bellamy. That's David Dwork, Hockey News. Rosie and Ethan in the other studio. Playoffs! Playoffs are here. Yes! Here are the matchups.

77.092 - 88.002 Roy

Toronto, Ottawa, Tampa, Florida, Washington, Montreal, Carolina, New Jersey, in the West, Winnipeg, St. Louis, Dallas, Colorado, Vegas, Minnesota, and... Los Angeles and Edmonton.

0

88.722 - 89.643 Rose

When was the last one again?

0

90.123 - 93.526 Roy

Los Angeles and Edmonton. What year is it? Four.

0

94.066 - 99.169 Rose

Oh, my gosh. I'm excited, though. I think the Kings are going to do it this year. Oh, wow. That would be great. It's right off the bat.

99.41 - 115.841 Ethan Podolsky

I want to pick them so bad, and I just can't bring myself to do it. Because hasn't everybody said for the last three years, now this is the year the Kings are going to do it. They're going to take down the Oilers. I don't know. And then Drysaddle scored 54 goals or whatever it was this year, and McDavid 100 points is in in like 70 games.

117.422 - 120.305 DJ Bean

The good news, if the Kings make it, the Oilers don't. So we don't have to go.

120.325 - 121.346 Roy

We don't have to go to Edmonton.

121.386 - 122.047 DJ Bean

Yeah, exactly.

Chapter 3: What are the highlights from the end of the NHL regular season?

2118.959 - 2130.584 DJ Bean

I have a question. So these two guys, their team is the Panthers undeniably. Which one is your team? Is your team the Oilers, DJ, and Pete yours? I don't know which one.

0

2130.684 - 2136.907 David Samson

It's the Bruins, right, Pete? My other Bruins, they are nowhere to be found over the next couple of months. So don't have to worry about that.

0

2136.927 - 2138.608 DJ Bean

Oh, that's why you hate Marchand.

0

2139.448 - 2141.589 David Samson

I don't hate Marchand. Pete hates Marchand.

0

2141.649 - 2142.789 Ethan Podolsky

No, he doesn't hate Marchand.

2142.809 - 2144.29 David Samson

I love Marchand.

2144.33 - 2148.352 Roy

We have Marchand now. You guys are on a full rebuild now, aren't you?

2149.403 - 2162.854 David Samson

Yeah, I would say that. The front office says no. They say it's a retool and it might be a hybrid retool rebuild, but there's not a whole lot to look forward to at this point. So I would call that a rebuild.

2162.874 - 2179.944 Pete Blackburn

Are you supposed to have your second round pick when you're in a rebuild or do you not need those? I don't know. I'm not in charge of rebuilds. Right. But I'm saying like they're entering this rebuild and the only thing they have, they have some later picks and everything. They have like second round picks that are later in the round. Like they don't even have their own second round pick.
