I think that's four consecutive years. They have the best record, I think, in baseball. certainly in the National League, and it's an oh-by-the-way.

The interesting baseball news I thought last night was Pete Alonzo, former Met, coming back, and at Citi Field, nobody's hit more home runs at Citi Field than Pete Alonzo. The Mets allowed him to go to Baltimore in the offseason. He comes back, he hits a game-tying home run, and then he gets a standing ovation. I didn't think the Mets season could get any lower, but you did. Pete Alonzo, you welcomed him when he came back when the series started, and now all of a sudden you're going to give him a hero's welcome in another uniform. Huh? Why? You know? Yes, Paul.
You haven't cheered or stood up for anything for almost 162 games. It's like you were bottled up and you had to cheer something.

But watching that last night and then getting the Mets fans' reactions to it and those there were cheering. I think those not there watching were probably going, man, how low can we possibly go here? Well, when you're eliminated from playoff contention and that's just become par for the course, you just start to root for your former players. Is that what it is? Yeah, even if they're playing you, it's like, you know what, he had a milestone. We'll cheer for him. If DeGrom goes out, I'm like, I hope he has a quality start.

Yes, Paul? I think Dylan nailed it. The Mets are 69-82, 19.5 out. If they were like five games over and still in a playoff race, they would have treated that game differently, the fans. It would have been a game, not an exhibition where you cheer for an old guy.
And I still wonder, you know, that Juan Soto deal for $700 million, what could go wrong? If you have a good front office, can't you say to your front office, could you give me five $100 million players instead of one $700 million player? The only guy who's... Even close to that, worth that kind of money, is Otani because of a global effect that he has.
