Good morning, sunshines. How are you? Good to see you. Welcome to Hot Topics at 10. It's 10.15. Getting myself together. I am not Actually, I feel worse than yesterday, but I cannot leave you guys alone because there's so much to talk about. I don't even know where to start today. Have you guys been seeing all these things going around about people who are regretting their votes for Donald Trump? Now, I'm not sure how much of it is satire, how much of it is real. Well, there's enough of it that's real that we're going to talk about it. People are regretting their vote. Are you tired yet? Are you wondering, like, wait, my relatives are being deported. Wait a minute. What happened? Eggs are higher than when Joe Biden was in office.
Don Lemon 1:01
Wait, what do you mean? I can't get my Medicare? Wait, what? What is going on? What happened? I thought he was going to do a carve out for me. That he was going to make an exception for me. What about me? And he didn't. And now you're an FAFO. Everyone from teachers to farmers to everyday people, even some of the folks who just did not want to go back to work. Like you supported Donald Trump, but you thought you'd be able to work from home. And then he's like, no, bring your ass back to work. Come into the office.

Are MAGA voters really expressing regret about their Trump vote?

Don Lemon 1:38
And now you mad because of that. Why are you mad, bro? Why are you mad? Thank you, Jen Leonard. I will feel better soon. I just need to get more and more sleep. Thank you, Violet Ray. I appreciate it. Feel better. Take lemons. I will. I have lemons and I got some lemon tea right here. So thank you all. I really appreciate it. But we got some business to do this morning. So come on in, everyone. Where are you streaming from? Let me know. And let me know, do you care? Do you know anyone who's regretting their vote? Now, I'm sure some people are loving it, right? Because, oh, we're owning the libs, and this is what we want, and whatever. It's not really what they want. They're going to tell you that. They're lying to you.
Don Lemon 2:17
Because I know some MAGA folks, and they're like, wait a minute. What is all of this? I didn't expect all of this chaos. I thought everything, the prices, everything was going to go down. And it hasn't. And it's about to go up, especially with these tariffs. So do not get it twisted. Forget about the price of eggs, the price of houses. It's about to go through the roof. You thought that you couldn't afford the American dream. You thought that you couldn't afford the American dream. Wait till now. Wait till these tariffs on steel and metal and aluminum, or as they say, aluminum, across the pond. Wait till these tariffs go in. And see if you were ever able to afford the American dream in the near or even far future.
Don Lemon 3:04
It's not going to happen. The price of houses about to go through the roof. President Donald Trump has ordered a 25% import tax on all steel and aluminum entering the U.S. in a major expansion of existing trade barriers. The tariffs, which will increase the costs of importing the metals into the U.S., come despite warnings of retaliation from some political leaders in Canada. America's biggest supplier of metals. As well as other countries. It's not just Canada. Canada's like, we don't need you. We got our own syrup. We got our own metals. We got our own aluminum. You need ours. So do your thing, America, Trump. That's honestly what they're saying. All of this has prompted the trend on social media, hashtag MAGA regrets.
Don Lemon 3:56
Do you know some folks who are regretting? This is a mashup of tons of voters saying that they now regret voting for Donald Trump. Again, we don't know. Some of it may be satire, but we know that a lot of it is real because I have encountered some of these folks. But here it is. Watch.
