Hi, good morning, everyone. Welcome to the program. Welcome to Hot Topics at 10 a.m. I'm so glad that you're here. You can see I kind of look a little rough this morning. So anyways, I'm glad that you guys are here. Thank you guys for hanging with the team. And hi, everyone. I know I'm so glad to see you. Welcome. Let me know where you're streaming from. I'm still in Louisiana, as you can see. We're having some bad weather. And you can see it's up on the radar, so we're all watching it. And thank you for all of your prayers. We felt every single one of them. So I just want to put up a picture of someone I want to show you. And that is my sister. And there she is right there. And I wanted to tell you guys that my sister died on Monday.
I have been... Since I have been gone... We were hoping that she would recover, but I've been staying in the hospital with her, sleeping on the couch in her room for the last four or five days since I got here, I think on Thursday or Wednesday, whenever I got here. But so I didn't want to tell you guys. But when I would tell you, you know, I needed prayers or whatever that, yeah, if she wasn't doing so well, she went back into the hospital after the first time. I think you guys remember I was here in January. And staying at this very same hotel in a room right near this room, very similar room. And so I know you guys saw that I wrote about her, remember, on the sub stack and that she was doing better, but she had had a stroke.
And so she had this... speech aphasia or whatever and so she couldn't quite connect the words but everything else was connecting but she couldn't quite say the words but anyway she took a turn for the worst and so I just um jumped on an airplane and with like sweatpants and two shirts and um and then rushed down here and then uh so I would do I did the show here for one a day or two and then so I would leave and stay with her at night in the hospital and then come back to the hotel and do my show and then go back to the hospital and stay with her. So thank you for your condolences. She was, I don't know if you guys knew, my oldest sister died accidentally in 2018 of an accidental drowning. And then my middle sister died.
So I'm the last one. The only kid left. You guys have to look out for me so that my mom can be okay. I have to tell you, I'm in shock. I think I'm still in shock. I was there when she passed. We all got to stand around and say goodbye to her. I don't know if you've ever seen someone die. It's weird because I think it's better... think it's better when you're there to be able to say goodbye to them i don't know what i'm going to say i just want to tell you guys that um i think it's better when you're there because i never got to say goodbye to my first sister but this was also really really really really hard um but so i'm gonna i'll talk about this stuff i just wanted to tell you guys what happened so if you look anybody's in your life if you have a loved one
that you have not spoken to or that is sick or anything, just reach out to them. It's not worth it. But my sister and I were on good terms, so nothing like that for us. But I had been calling her in the hospital. So after I would do the show in New York, I would call her and she would talk to me. And it was so weird because I'm sure the people who were listening to me, if there were workers in the house or if Tim was there, they had no idea what she was talking about. But I knew her for so long. that I knew what she was saying, even though she couldn't find the right words. And so I would just talk to her on the phone and she would just talk and, you know, she would say things and like, that wouldn't make sense.
But to me, I knew exactly what she was talking about. So I would finish her sentences and, you know, the same thing she was like, she was just telling me, don't worry, don't worry, I'm fine. And it was the first time when she had the stroke, it was heartbreaking to hear her talk because I was like, well, she's not making sense, right? And so then I went down to see her.
