Good morning, one and all. Welcome to Hot Topics with Don Lemon, 10 a.m. Eastern time. Welcome, welcome, welcome. If you're on the East, on the West Coast, it is 7 a.m. Pacific Coast time. We're so glad you're here. Look, we are starting a bit. Happy that you're here, by the way. Make sure you hit the thumbs up. Make sure you hit the like. It affects the algorithm. Our membership link is at the top of the chat. We have some sponsors today that we're going to talk about. So Don is gathering all the hot topics. I am Make It Rain NYC. I'm gathering hot topics. We're watching the market and we're watching what's going on with the resistance as well. The resistance is huge. And I'm also trying to figure out what's going on with my glasses and my eyes.
Don Lemon 0:55
Do you guys have the same thing? Like one day your eyes are great and then one day they're not so great and then one day they're good and then your prescription changes? Does it have to do with like your blood sugar or I'm not sure. But some days I can see perfectly fine almost. And then other days I'm like, I can't see anything. And I need like different glasses. I have like three pairs of glasses, which is bizarre. Anyways, so thank you guys for joining us this morning. Got a little bit of a reprieve so far. So don't get your high hopes. Don't get on your high horse, anybody, because we don't know exactly what is going on with the market. I forget exactly what it was. And this is only a small, small, small make good or clawback, however you want to call it, on some of the losses.
Don Lemon 1:47
It doesn't even make up for one day of losses. And all of the experts are telling us just be calm. We will see if this means anything. at all or if it changes anything. But we're going to tell you why. We're going to dig into that after three days of monumental losses. The market is oddly up today. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it stays up. So I hope that it does. But we don't know. We're going to see. But you know what's not up? And that is Donald Trump's polling numbers. We have brand new figures just out this morning that indicate both his economic approval rating and his overall job approval rating. They have both collapsed over the last several days. And then you have thousands upon thousands upon thousands of people who are out voting.
Don Lemon 2:35
protesting, taking to the streets because they are not happy with what is going on in the country.
Unknown 2:42
It is a historic loss of confidence for an American.
Don Lemon 2:50
Early in his term, no wonder we're seeing massive hands off protests all over the country. And we're going to tell you what's behind it. First of all, let us set the table for you. As we say, let's say I had some bacon and eggs this morning. I actually had breakfast. I usually don't have breakfast. We had some bacon and eggs, and now we want to set the scene for you this morning on what is going on. This is from the New York Times, and it's articles on today's markets. And it says, by the way, let us know where you're streaming from this morning. And if you're having a good morning, what you're doing, okay? So if you look at all of this, right, look at how the market is up, and then it's down, and now it's back up a little bit.
Don Lemon 3:27
So that, it doesn't at all really affect. This is a minuscule change in the markets. For today, by the way, let me make sure, because I think I'm like right now screwing over my TikTok folks, because I always forget to turn the TikTok on. So the TikTok is up. So this is what's happening. Some calm returns to the market, even as trade tensions escalate, stocks around the world recouped some of the losses set off by President Trump's tariffs. China announced new measures to lift its markets and it doesn't appear that that anyone is going to blink on this. Now, the White House is saying the administration is touting like, oh, my gosh, we have people coming to the table. So look. All right. So look at the right there, right at the bottom right, right next to the Don Lemon show sign.
Don Lemon 4:19
I think if I'm not looking at it backwards. Am I right? Is it next to the Don Lemon show sign?
