And quite frankly, he and Maria Maria Bartiromo embarrassed themselves in that interview this weekend where he is talking about we're going to have to have some pain. Why do we have to have some pain? Why do the American people have to have pain? Why do farmers have to have pain? Why can't the billionaires have pain? Because it wouldn't even be painful for them to pay more taxes. It would not be painful for them to pay more. And they could afford to. How many yachts do you need? How many private jets do you need? So everybody welcome this morning. I hate to start off with some bad news, but we are really in a recession. Donald Trump is lying to you. He doesn't know what he's doing. He's going to blame Joe Biden when the economy, I'm telling you, was on fire under Joe Biden. The economy was doing very well. We're coming out. We're lowering inflation. And now Donald Trump wants to do what?
He wants all of these products to be made available. In America. If you can, give me the one.
What did Trump say in the Maria Bartiromo interview about tariffs and 'pain'?
I forgot, guys. I sent you the one about trees, about Canada. There was someone who I sent it to you guys overnight. Yeah, when he said, hey, we want to make everything in America, which is idealistic. I'm not saying it's a great idea. It's idealistic to think that we can survive in a world and be so isolationist. We're not alone in the world. We cannot make everything, every product in the world. Some products are better made other places. That's just the reality of it. Some things are better made other places because we just don't have the resources to We don't have the infrastructure. We don't have the topography. We don't have the capability of doing it, of making it. We don't have the natural resources to be able to do it.
So to think that we can make all of these products in America and be, you know, and it's just us and be so isolation is so myopic is it's a ridiculous idea. It's idealistic. It's naive and it's stupid. Because Donald Trump says, I'm gonna raise tariffs on this, we're gonna raise tariffs on lumber and timber and all of that stuff. For what? We don't have the resources to be able to make our stuff. Before I get into this ridiculous interview that I want you to see, not all of it, I wouldn't dare do that to you on a Monday morning.
