Well, we got to lead with the big, beautiful or maybe not so beautiful bill, because if you all checked out of the news, as you should over the weekend, you may have missed that Senate Republicans are sprinting full speed ahead, working to get Trump's reconciliation package, which is going to just devastate communities across this country. They're teeing it up for a final vote. likely allowing it to be on Trump's desk by July 4th to be signed. We have some other news related to this, but before we dig into that, Nikki, Jen, any initial thoughts, anything that you saw over the weekend or any new ugly little gremlins added to this package that particularly disturbed you?
So I know that the Democrats rebranded this the big ugly bill, and I don't think that goes far enough. I want to call it the big heaping pile of dog shit bill. It is a crime scene, this bill is. And you have what's so insane is you have Democratic senators like Elizabeth Warren, whom I went live with yesterday, who state Massachusetts is not going to be as impacted by the gutting of all of these programs. But she's fighting for people and their own senators can't even stand up for their constituents. And basically, at the end of the day, MAGA is an assault on poor people. And the more pigment your skin has, the more those attacks come in. But all in all, the entire MAGA movement is an attack on poor people.
And this bill hits the poorest, most marginalized people While all the people in the MAG administration Christian signal and they wear their crosses so that the white folks sitting at home watching Fox News go, oh, well, Caroline Leavitt wouldn't lie. She looks like a good Christian lady. Meanwhile, she's lying and gaslighting and launching a war on religion. poor people. And the worst thing that MAGA has done and the Republican party before that is demonize people who work 40 hours a week, who work just as hard as the three of us on this show right here. And they demonize them and call them lazy and it is immoral. And I think the gig is starting to become up. I hope that this bill can be stunted, but at the end of the day, all of those senators are going to go out
and vote for millionaires and billionaires and emasculate themselves once again. Yeah, they always do.
Nikki, we've talked about this before, but I feel like there's this conception, at least within half the country, about welfare queens, right? This is Ronald Reagan's big project. His big selling point about welfare is that it's always, particularly Black women, particularly older Black women in urban centers that are just leeching off the government. When in fact, and this is a big bugaboo for Don, most blue states give more money than they actually get from the federal government.
