The fact that she wouldn't be held accountable for this, I think, blows the mind of anyone who's held our nation's secrets dear, who's had a top-secret clearance like I have and others, who know that even one hiccup causes a problem, let alone a standard procedure like this. I can promise you this, when moms and dads lie down to sleep at night and can't, this isn't on their list.

We're all shocked, shocked that President Trump and his team don't actually care about protecting classified information or federal record retention laws. But we knew that already. What's much worse is that top Trump administration officials put our troops in jeopardy by sharing military plans on a commercial messaging app and unwittingly invited a journalist into the chat. That's dangerous. And it's just dumb. Well said, Madam Secretary. It is just dumb. It's reckless, yes. It's a criminal, it should be. But frankly, more than anything, it's just dumb.
Clinton goes on to detail how Signalgate is just the administration's latest self-inflicted wound. The latest self-inflicted wound born out of plain stupidity. At every turn, Trump and his cronies are stupidly squandering America's strength and threatening our national security. Think about it, okay? firing hundreds of federal workers charged with protecting our nation's nuclear weapons. Dumb. Handing pink slips to the scientists combating bird flu is dumb. Shutting down our pandemic response programs in Africa. Dumb. Purging talented generals, diplomats, and spies at a time when rivals like China and Russia are trying to expand their global reach.
