Remember when he played human hot potato with desperate asylum seekers, shipping them around the country, dumping them on random people's doorsteps?
And remember how he played laissez-faire with pandemic protocols, leading his state to reportedly have the second highest number of COVID-19 deaths in this country? Look, he is not a good governor. He's not a good dude. But the Congresswoman, this may have been a misfire, okay? She was just making a joke. It wasn't a great joke. And we shouldn't be in the habit of making fun of people with disabilities. However... MAGA acting like Jasmine Crockett is a monster, really?
So much for Michelle Obama's when they go low, we go high. Crockett went as low as humanly possible by mocking Governor Greg Abbott for being paralyzed.

That was way back in 2015. It was one of Trump's very first major scandals as a presidential candidate. Do you think Greg Gutfeld and the folks over at Fox called him a jerk back in the day? Spoiler alert, of course not. I mean, look at this, guys. This is just awful. Now, Crockett's comments, they may have been a mistake, clearly just a misfired attempt at comedy. Trump's mockery of the New York Times reporter was vicious and it was cruel and it was nasty. Republicans really don't have a high horse to get on. Their orange god king has said just about every bigoted thing imaginable about every single minority group imaginable. And now you're going to claim that you are the party of decorum and decency?
Give me a break, you pearl-clutching liars. You love and protect disabled people and you literally just abolish the Department of Education and the government body charged with making sure kids with disabilities have access to proper learning equipment? You are literally trying to gut Medicare and Social Security. Those are programs that all underprivileged Americans, but especially disabled Americans, rely on. You're literally trying to overturn the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Why is the 'Governor Hot Wheels' joke problematic given Greg Abbott's disability history?
You know... The thing that for 40 years has granted disabled folks protections in the workplace, in the workforce, in housing, and ensured they had access to public places and private spaces open to the public, such as stores and restaurants.
