No, I think that you're right. In fact, just moments ago, as you and I were just talking offline, the House GOP actually blocked the Democratic maneuver to force the release of the Epstein files. So like you, like the folks that are with us right now, we are all confused. My understanding is that there is a massive... Republican constituency that is demanding the release. In fact, you listen to Steve Bannon, Tucker Carlson, even Dan Bongino, who all have been screaming that they are demanding the release.
Candace Owens, Benny Johnson, I think of Megyn Kelly, like all of the right wing podcasters and as I call them, D writers of Trump, D writers that have been you know, really glazing and caping for Donald Trump. They're all saying release it, and he's saying something different. He's saying don't talk about it. Charlie Kirk as well, but Charlie Kirk is now saying, okay, I'm going to leave it up to my government. I'm going to believe them. I'm not going to talk about it anymore. When after reportedly Donald Trump gave him a nice little talking to on a phone call, again, that's allegedly that happened. So, I mean, look, Michael, you cannot help. Do you know what the Trisand effect is? No. The Streisand effect is, and I think you know, that when a public figure responds to something, they bring more light to it.
They give it more fuel than if they had just shut up and not said anything, it would go away. Barbara Streisand, they were putting her house online or something talking about coastal erosion in Malibu. She wanted it taken down. People didn't even know it was up there. And then she brought all this attention to it. And so then they coined it the Streisand effect. So Donald Trump, With him saying, you know, don't talk about it. I can't believe we're talking about it. Who cares about Jeffrey Epstein? Now everybody cares about it. People who didn't even know about it.
Well, I'm not so sure about that because let's not forget during the course of the campaign, all the way through the date that Trump made that statement. All you had to do is listen to every one of these MAGA pundits going on and saying that they will release, and Trump said it too, that I will release the Martin Luther King file, the John F. Kennedy assassination file, as well as the Jeffrey Epstein file. There is a wrongful belief. Now, let's say it again. It is an ill, in my opinion, and a wrong belief that Trump is all over these documents, that there's going to be something about him with underage girls and so on and so forth. I don't buy it. And I don't buy it. As somebody, you know, my podcast this coming Friday on Mayor Culpa, I actually have Michael Wolff.
