Hello and good evening. You are watching the Don Lemon Show, Lemon Live at 5. Thank you for tuning in for a very special episode. I know that I am not Don Lemon and I hope that you know that I am not Don Lemon. But if you don't know, I am not Don Lemon. My name is Charles Coleman. And I'm filling in today for my friend and colleague, Don Lemon, who's away on a holiday. And we have got a lot to talk about. The two biggest stories right now that are dominating the news cycle are going to be what we are unpacking today. Starting first and foremost. Diddy, the verdict came out today. We have had reaction. We are now waiting for Judge Submaranian to consider the bail request from both the government as well as Diddy's attorneys who have asked for him to be released on one million dollar bond and a bunch of other conditions.
But we've got to break down how the trial ended. what the verdict ended up being, and we'll talk about all of that with a number of different people, which I don't want to spoil it for you. But then we also have another breaking story out of Washington, where as we speak, there is voting and debate. on the newest and latest version of the big, beautiful budget bill that is essentially the cornerstone of Donald Trump's domestic legacy. It is how Donald Trump intends to fund the government, his government, his agenda over the next four years. And so as you may have heard, There was quite a bit of consternation in the Senate vote. J.D. Vance, Vice President Vance, had to be involved in breaking the tie just to get the vote passed to the Senate.
A lot of controversy with respect to that. It is now back in the House where it has been hotly debated and continues to be hotly debated. And we're going to talk about that as well as we go through today's breaking news. But, Jolly, why don't you tell us a little bit about that story before we get to Diddy?
I appreciate it, Charles. Yes. So we're going to go more into detail later in the show, the last half of the show. But what I want everyone to know right now, what I find most interesting, this bill, as you mentioned, came from the Senate. J.D. Vance was the tie breaking vote to the House yesterday. And there's about 64 extra pages than what went to the Senate. And ordinary procedure says you need all the committees that have purview over those additions need to have time to go through the pages, read them. There needs to be time to debate them. Instead, what happened was House Republicans shoved this into a one-hour debate, shoved it into a rules vote, shoved it into a procedural vote, all so that they can get to the final vote today before anybody had time to really read it.
But an interesting update. Now, Charles, if you and I would have had this conversation at two o'clock, I'd be giving you a different update. I would be telling you about three o'clock this bill's passed. We're all screwed. But it's now five o'clock and we're learning that the procedural vote has came to a sudden halt. All the Republicans were ushered out of the House galley by the speaker. And they're probably getting a stern talking to because there's more than 10 Republicans right now stating that they're still going to vote no on the bill as is. So I'm following that.
And we knew we know that if Democrats hold the line, which they're largely expected to, that 10 votes from Republicans against the bill is not going to get that done. So looking forward to talking about that a little bit later with you, Jolly. And please keep us updated on what we're dealing with in Washington.

A lot to talk about just to catch viewers up and frame everything up. Yesterday, we got news that there was a partial verdict from the jury. We heard that they had agreed on four of the five counts that were on the verdict sheet, but could not agree on count one, which essentially was the racketeering charge. The judge, Judge Subramanian, sent them home for the evening, gave them new instructions that were a revised and expanded version of the instructions that he had previously given them.
