We have a big show planned for you. We're going to update you on some of the breaking news that we had earlier in the day because there are new developments as it relates to Rob Reiner and his wife, Michelle, and their son, Nick. Their son, Nick, who is now officially in police custody and don't know the exact charges yet, but that's where we are. Rob Reiner is 78 years old.
His wife is 68 years old. Found in their home in Brentwood yesterday evening and They had been the victim of a stabbing and police, at least at this point, believe that their son, Nick, is responsible for that. I want to bring in now someone who can help me out and talk all about this. This is a sad, sad story. I want to talk to you. I want to talk about the political angle in this, and then we'll discuss the other details. But the President of the United States responded to this and got everybody talking. And here's what he said on social media. I'm just going to read. I hate reading it, but, you know. A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, tortured and struggling... But once very talented movie director and comedy star has passed away together with his wife, Michelle, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding and incredible affliction with a mind crippling disease known as Trump derangement syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS.
He was known to have driven people crazy by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump and his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness. And with the golden age of America upon us, perhaps like never before, may Rob and Michelle rest in peace. Now, I doubt that he wrote that. Even so, I think someone wrote it for him as they do many of these things. But it got his stamp of approval whether he wrote it or not. What did you think of the response when you saw it?
First of all, I wouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt. I mean, whether he sent this off to the tweet boy or did this himself, he doubled down. And what it reminds me of is, you know, have you no sense of decency, sir? And the answer is the president of the United States does not. making a tragic death of a great American artist, comedian, director, some of the greatest movies of our lifetimes this man made, and making it about himself in a way that shows no respect. One quote that jumped out at me, Don, and I was telling you about it, is from the editor of Christianity Today, Russell Moore. And here's what he wrote. He said, how this vile, speaking of Trump's comments, this vile, disgusting and immoral behavior has become normalized in the United States is something our descendants will study in school.
