Okay. Hello, everyone. Welcome to Lemon Live at 5. We're so glad that you're here. Thank you. Sitting around, all of us, as we have been doing, minding our own black, white, brown, yellow, purple business. But Congress and the folks in D.C. just won't give it a rest. And they're really playing around with Americans' lives, playing around with the paycheck, livelihoods, all of that. So we're coming to you live today. Usually we don't go live on Fridays because we know you're out doing your own thing. It is Friday. You don't want to have to deal with some of this stuff. And I know a lot of you are really sick of dealing with politics. As a matter of fact, tell me if you are. Because what I have noticed in our engagement is that folks are not really engaging that much on the political.
They're engaging more on other things. Okay? Too much guy news before that guy even gets in power. Ah, thank you. Allowing others to shine. By the way, our members who are up now, our members who are there, they get the priority. So Kirsten Thompson says sociopaths. I don't know about that. Hey, Don Lemonheads. So this is what I want to tell you about. We want to tell you what's going on, because at any moment now, they said they could have a decision on whether our government will shut down, which will bring part of the country, at least for some of the workers, will bring it to a halt. People won't be getting paid, our military people, many people who work for the federal government. So that's what we are coming to you live for.
So I'm keeping an eye as I am now. on what's happening in Washington. And let's just put up, I'll put up what's happening in Congress and you're gonna know. Just show them, Andy, what we have. And when this billboard comes down, then you know it's some serious stuff, right? So it says, This is the 118th Congress. They're going to have the 119th Congress in January. The House is in recess, subject to the call of the chair. And so it is believed that the chair is going to call at any moment. And we've got a lot of things to update you on. We've been speaking to the people in Washington. A congressperson who said about 10 minutes ago that they got a call saying, let's caucus. And that is a Democratic person.
So that means... We could be in business. So let me just give you some information before you and I sit and talk for a little bit, and then I figure out what's on your mind. So tell me where you're streaming from this evening. Hello, everybody. I appreciate it. I appreciate this morning was fantastic, by the way, the engagement. I thank you for everything. I thank you for your support of independent media. I thank you for hitting the thumbs up, the likes, the hearts, for smashing the screen, or whatever it is, however it is that you are supporting us. Tina Cooper, welcome to The Lemon Nation. Love the members that we are getting. Hello to Beth Bear. Hello, Suzanne Watanbe. Don. Oh, wow, from Hawaii. It's kind of late in Hawaii.
