Chapter 1: Could heavy metals be the reason for my health issues?
Could heavy metals be why you don't feel well? Believe it or not, why you can't even lose weight? Of course, major brain fog, major energy loss, sleep, pain, gut problems that won't heal. The answer is absolutely yes. However, I wanted to do this episode about heavy metals because there's a lot of myths, a lot of pitfalls, and a lot of things done wrong.
Most of you watching me know that I've trained doctors for more than 20 years on my detox protocols, but many of which started out of heavy metals. Why? Because that's my story. And I'm going to share a little bit more about my story because in it is a lot of good teaching, honestly. Everything I learned and that I have been teaching for 20 years has been pain to purpose. And I am always saying,
that I'm not smart enough to come up with it. God allowed me to go through what I went through to be even here today, teaching you this message. And if you're hearing my voice right now, I know somehow, somehow that you're meant to hear these words. Okay, look, there is a lot of pitfalls around testing for heavy metals. Okay, have you done a hair test? Have you done a urine test?
Have you done a blood test? Well, I can tell you all of those tests could lead you with a false positive or a false negative and lead you down the wrong path. Okay, what about the solution? Have you tried Corella? Cilantro? Have you tried the little heavy metal detoxes? Have you tried zeolite drops? Have you tried... Yeah, the list does, in fact, keep going on.
Well, many of those things could have made you actually worse. Even maybe you didn't feel much of anything when you did them, But what happens is they create more redistribution and they can put metals further into your brain and other tissues. So the question then begs to be answered, what do I do? Okay, that's, yeah, 20 years of me teaching that.
But I'm going to make this as tight as I can, literally, in 15 or 20 minutes. So you can literally walk away from this episode and say, okay, I've got a grasp on this. All right, I do want to start a little bit with my story because I didn't choose any of this. Absolutely, all of it chose me, or I would say God chose me for it.
I spent, this was about 1999, 2000, 2001, two, three, four, five, looking for answers like many people, right? But back then, of course, we didn't have the crazy AI. We didn't have chat, of course. We didn't even have that a few years ago, but we didn't have the internet like we have it. I literally find myself in the library on microfiche.
I just dated myself and older folks like myself are laughing. Yeah, microfiche, yeah. Can you believe you'd actually have to go in there and like, you know, look for data, you know, on these things, this literally this... archaic system of a library that you're just like moving all of these topics on. Oh, it was a disaster, but spent many hours there.
I spent hours in bookstores, actually, just like looking for the right book to buy. And if I thought I found someone that had an answer, of course, I'd take it home and read the book. I spent...

Chapter 2: What are the common misconceptions about heavy metal testing?
I couldn't even take too long of walks. I'd find myself exhausted. So I knew something was wrong. But I chased my thyroid, of course, too, because my hair was thinning, you know, falling out. I was getting skinny fat where I was like losing all of my muscle and gaining fat, which I never had before. You know, but obviously the energy problem led me to adrenal thyroid as well.
And every bit of the hormone stuff I chased. So obviously, this is about heavy metals. At one point, I found Mad Hatter's disease online. What is that? The people making felt hats were using mercury as literally part of the process. And they became known as Mad Hatters. I had all the symptoms that I described, and more, sound sensitivity, heartbeat, ringing, buzzing, tinnitus in my ears.
I mean, again, I sometimes even forget, and I'll read stuff that I had wrote a while ago. I'm like, oh, oh my gosh, yeah, I forgot about that. So believe me, I'm just brushing it, brushing it off because I went through so much and you honestly, you forget a lot. But life as I knew it came to a screeching halt. Two young boys at the time,
A wife, fresh out of her mind, not knowing what to do with me, explosive at times, that wasn't my personality. Not able to go to work, not wanting to go to work, had no motivation, and feeling sorry for myself, so you can imagine that. At one point, I was literally trying to push her away.
If you want to hear that whole story, by the way, go back on my podcast, and you'll see an interview that my wife and I did together, and you can hear more details of that story. But the bottom line was, and I always have to say this, you know, in this pain that I just briefly described, literally she'd be on her knees many times.
This particular time, God spoke to her, and she says as clear as day that not only is he going to get me well, but I'm going to take a message to the world. And I feel like I can never tell that story without saying that part, because that to me is the most important part, that he chose me, trusted me with this mission, and the knowledge. that I'd been teaching for so many years.
But by the way, when she would tell me that, I would get mad at her because I would say, I can't even help myself, but here I sit today. So she was right, or he was right through her. But okay, chased all the wrong things, but it did lead me to some answers. Mad Hatter's disease was the start, but here's the problem. I went and got a blood test And that test was negative.
And I remember because that day I did almost $5,000 worth of blood work, didn't have insurance to pay for it, so it was a ton for me to put out. And he came back and I was hoping he would say I had mercury off the chart and here's what else we found. And he looked at me and said, son, you're healthier than me. And that was not a good day, I can assure you. It led me hopeless for a while.
But here I am a year or so later, and I'm working with a very bright endocrinologist, and knowing my thyroid, my adrenals, and other hormone issues were part of a lot of the symptoms that I had, not the cause. There was something upstream causing my hormone problems, which were causing the symptoms that I had. I hope you heard that.

Chapter 3: How can I identify the sources of heavy metal exposure?
He said, it wouldn't be in your blood. It's in and out of the blood in days. So it's very transient. It's in the tissue. you'd have to do something to get it out of the tissue. Why don't you try challenging it out with a water-soluble chelator like DMSA or DMPS is actually what I use. That's a water-soluble chelator, not that important right now, but it pulls it out and it shows up in your urine.
By the way, It's still not a perfect test, even though that was the best test, because it showed not only some mercury at abnormal levels, but even other metals that were very abnormally high, like lead, aluminum, etc. And so he could tell, and I could tell, that my detox pathways to getting rid of heavy metals were shut down and I was accumulating this stuff in my tissue.
Now, what we didn't test, because without biopsy, you can't test where my real problem actually was. Write this down, this is important. Most heavy metal, mercury, aluminum, where you get those crazy symptoms that I just said here at the top of the show, the problem's in the brain. These are neurotoxins, meaning they go for your nerve system, which this is the control tower right here.
I found a study showing that mercury accumulates in the hypothalamus pituitary. That's the control tower in the center of your brain that controls, guess what? The thyroid and the adrenals. No wonder I chased those without much help at all. Sometimes it'd get better and worse. Some things would get actually way worse. But the fact is, is that it was the control tower.
And I actually came to that conclusion. when I was looking for answers. But when I would address the pituitary that controls really all your hormones, I would actually get a lot worse. But when I found the study that mercury can accumulate there, as well as other heavy metals like aluminum, and that can be the problem, lights went on.
So when we looked at the test, he said, you know, I do think most of the problems in your brain, this test doesn't reflect that. It just reflects your tissue in your body. But I can tell you if it's there, it's here, and that's your problem. My next question is, what do you think I got it? And he says, do you have any dental work done around the time this all happened?
And I said, you know, maybe because I had this gold filling put in and I had a silver amalgam filling taken out, which is 50% mercury. Yeah, those dark silver fillings, 50% mercury, outlawed in many countries around the world except here in the U.S., which it should be. considered hazardous waste when it's not in your body.
The moment it actually comes out, ironically, from your mouth and hits the dental tray, it's considered hazardous waste again. Oh, but it's safe in your mouth. Whole nother episode we can do on that, on dentistry. And I've done podcasts interviewing dentists about that topic and others. But the fact is, is they contain 50% mercury, which vaporize mercury for the life of that filling.
If you don't believe me, for fun, Google the smoking tooth video.

Chapter 4: What is Mad Hatter's disease and how does it relate to heavy metals?
Then they don't work.
So it's not about taking more. It's about fixing the cell to get well. That's my saying. We have to fix the cell to get well. And believe me, you can go to my pompaprogram.com, watch deeper trainings I've done there, and you can follow me on some of the other pages where I talk about these things. But here's what I want you to hear. First step is fixing that cell and getting it upregulated.
Second step, here's where people go wrong. Now, you do need chelators to grab these metals to make sure they go all the way out of the body. It's not the cilantro. It's not the krel. It's not the herbals that people talk about. No, those are weak binders that actually... cause more redistribution.
As I said at the top of the show, it actually caused more mercury in metals to go deeper into your brain. Very dangerous. Not a fan. Here's another problem. You might say to yourself, well, thank God I'm going to my doctor. He's giving me IV chelation, which is a real chelator. But the problem with IV, it puts a ton of chelator in and You didn't fix the cell. You didn't upregulate those pathways.
And you go home, and that chelator has a certain amount of time that it stays in your blood, and it goes away. And now all this redistribution happens. I made that mistake. Yep, I did that DMPS. I took a lot at once, even for the test. And I actually felt better when they were given it to me, and then my world fell apart. I did that a few times to learn a valuable lesson.
I did it with IV glutathione and fell apart. I juiced cilantro because that's a weak binder and drank a lot of that. And it's just caused a lot of redistribution, kind of like a street sweeper. You know how they just see that plume of dust going down and it settles somewhere else? That's what happens. So from the chelator like DMPS, EDTA, DMSA, those have to be taken. in their half-life.
I don't want to lose you. What did I mean by that? Meaning you have to keep the levels consistent in the blood to prevent that redistribution. So once we upregulate the cell, you can take different chelators in their half-life every four hours, every eight hours, every 10 hours, 12 hours.
Every chelator has a different half-life, but doctors, people, functional practitioners will just go across the board, make the mistake of saying, yeah, just take it once or twice a day. Or do an IV. That's violating the principle of half-life. And when you don't keep those levels consistent, you create redistribution. You can understand that. That's as simple as it gets.
When you take the weak binders, the chlorella, the cilantro, the herbal cleanses, when you have true heavy metal issues... They're weak binders. They don't grab on like those strong chelators do and hold on and don't let go. So what happens is they just stir it around. They're weak and they cause redistribution. Either way, big mistake.
