Hey, it's Neil Saavedra.
You're listening to KFI AM640, the Fork Report on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Hey everybody, it's the Fork Report. All things food, beverage and beyond. A very special broadcast today. The weather is so gorgeous. We've got a private barbecue happening at Bill Handel's home. He and Lindsay have opened up their home for us today for a special, an event to celebrate the very kind people that bid on this. It was originally one person plus their guests and then it became another person plus their guests and then another person plus their guests because
people were just so generous when it came to donating for katarina's club and it's not just uh well it's not just us we're reading the broadcast kfi because it's easy uh for us i mean we're broadcasting no matter what but um it's also the people that came to the table the wild fork with some extraordinary food uh and also anaheim white house uh that uh did uh desserts and uh appetizers and Zellman's, Minty Mouth, the years of Zellman's for all of our donors. We have gift bags and all kinds of stuff for people. So, you know, it's pretty special, especially the donors. I mean, it was very, very generous. And the way it ended up being three is that three were so close to each other that we just said, all three of you go.
Because usually it's a one-bidder, you know.
top bidder gets it but anyway all right i've done enough explaining you're on yeah so we're talking with chef uh chris bonotto and i wanted he's manning the grill today we went through man all of these sides were insane yeah crazy and the uh brisket all of it is just insane so we were talking a little bit about that we'll get back to that but i want to i want to make sure people know the restaurants um that you're participating in now and where they can eat your food and find out more about chris bonotto
Yeah, so I got a lot of awesome projects right now. I'm the director of culinary operations for a company called Legacy Lane Hospitality. And we kind of rejuvenate and revitalize these legacy bars and restaurants, if you will. So the Tipsy Falcon in Hawthorne is our newest joint. It's super fun. It's a very 70s theme, nod to the 70s. And you'll see that even in our food. I take classic Americana chips. kind of flip it on its head you'll see staples from the 70s from the 80s um in burgers and sandwich fashion we have a fondue burger we have a french onion soup burger a lot of fun stuff going on in that menu uh as well as today we're doing barbecue so i'm also representing uh old town patio in el segundo oh yeah that is our uh barbecue joint uh our main location out there
And it's absolutely fantastic. We have a beautiful menu over there that incorporates mostly our brisket, pulled pork. We do tri-tip daily. And so I brought a little bit of that here for you guys today. It's wonderful.
It just is insane. And, you know, Bill loves the meats and he loves the, you know, when it comes to brisket, he is a huge fan.
And this brisket was terrific. Just peak. Jim Keeney, who is sitting right over there.
Dr. Jim Keeney.
Dr. Jim Keeney. Literally, he just told me he went through three pounds of meat.
I love that. Absolutely. But it's okay because he's actually active. He surfs and does all kinds of things. I will go through three plates, too, and won't impress anybody because I'll just fall over and nap. He's going to walk it off at least. He will have that burned off by tonight. Me, I'll be having meat sweat dreams.
Right, meat sweats.
So also give your social so people can find you online.
Check me out. Chef underscore Binotto, B-I-N-O-T-T-O. That's on Instagram, TikTok, all those good things.
